The Psychic event is the worst event so far

Went out today for a couple of hours after the event started. Mr.Mimes everywhere, far more of them than Drowzees.

Terrible tasks, such as catch 5 Drowzees/Abra to get... a Jynx!

And no special bonuses. But at least we have a new hat for Pikachu!!

This event is really poor, they should have kept the water event going. At least if you don't live in Europe you don't have to see Mr.Mimes, a Pokemon which every GO player here despises.

I think it is actually one of the better events, as rural players such as myself don't have most of the strong Psychic-types and this event gives us an easy chance to obtain them.

Personally im a fan of this event. Means I wont need to allocate a mewtwo to any psychic specialist match ups with all these abra, so I can use my mewtwo as proteans for every raid boss. Though the effectiveness profile of psychic types beyond machamp raids is limited, it is good to be able to reliably get abra to power up my 98% Kazam or Ralts for even more candy. And all the beldum i've been finding pre event on its own is fantastic.

I get there's no real use for it right now, but why wouldn't you *eventually* want your best non-SB Mewtwo to be a psychic specialist? It's only the best IB user until Gen 4 inevitably drops, it's 3rd best electric user with TB, and it's already inferior as a fire user with FT. FB has merit as a bulkier fighting user but I've personally never been a fan so I won't remark on it.

Maybe I've lost sight of the rare candy investment as I've only been powering up with raid catches and currently have +500 rares in my bag.

Sure there are special bonuses. The catch 10 psychic for 1k dust is a great bonus and very common.
Ignoring weather boost and evolutions, if you have 1 such task, each psychic is x2 dust. If you have 2 it's x3 dust, 3 is x4 dust.
I always have at least 1 such quest, and usually more. I toss every other. It's a dust event in disguise.

Actually, the tasks are great except for that one. 3k dust for a 5 minute walk? Yes please.
My condolences to European players getting the short end of the stick. When our regional gets increased spawns we get an awesome Machamp alternative, not an inferior Drowzee.
7 beldum and 12 ralts (and a Kirlia) so far. No complaints here.

Not in Europe so the mime thing doens't apply to me. I've seen more of those Hatchus than I have Drowzee. But hey, they remembered to let these ones be shiny at least.

I am not having Mr Mime troubles...just a Khan infestation.
Is it the worst event? Nah...the last one was like this too at the beginning until they learnt something they have already forgot.
I swear I posted a near identical pic at the start of the last event.

It's not very exciting to me either. Mr Mime infestation is real. It is what it is, Niantic keeps bringing events for new and returning players. Until they drop the big update for everybody. I'm taking a semi break. Two free Mewtwo raids every two days, one spin/catch per day and chasing some interesting quests if someone share them on the local chat.

Btw, water quests are still available according to people reporting on the chat.
