Pokemon GO Plus Mod?

I was looking into buying a Pokémon GO Plus this week. And my brother-in-law told me there's a modded version of the device! I was really surprised that someone actually took the effort to mod GO Plus and asked my brother-in-law how it works.

So, based on his explanation:
1. Niantic can never ban you since it's really the same GO Plus with a small mod. It's the same hardware using Bluetooth connectivity so no way to detect it.
2. So how does it work? It bypasses the need to press the button to catch Pokémon and spin PokeStops. So basically, as you walk around and lights start flashing, it "automates" the catching and spinning.
3. The modded version even built in a physical switch so if you want to use it normally, you can switch from "auto" to "manual" mode.... These molders thought of everything....
4. He said for people that have to drive to work, crawl through traffic, etc. It's a great tool so you don't take any attention from driving since you don't need to push the button anymore.

Has anyone else heard of this before? Is this considered cheating? By automating Go Plus button-press? It costs $60 USD.

I read somewhere, probably here, that you can just tape down the Go+ button to achieve this same effect.

I dunno. Sounds awesome but I don't want to risk it IF EVER. I value my account and I'd rather push the button than face the consequences IF EVER Niantic decides to put this into bannable offense table. Plus, you will just press the button. That isn't hard to do. Just my 2 cents.

Anything automated, could be eventually picked up by Niantic, if they simply check your timing to push the button. The timing will always be totally random for a human, but any mods would mean that the timing would always be the same (ex.: Always 0.5 second simulated press everytime the Pogo+ goes off). I don't think they will bother with that though. And truly, where's the fun in that!

Technically, the timing is not only based on the press but a combination of press timing, Bluetooth transfer speed, your phone's cellular data speed, etc. A lot of factors and none are consistent. Just like cellular data's upload and download speed; they are not the same even for the exact same model phone at the exact same location.

So Niantic cannot detect that. Not that I encourage using this or anything.

I've made 2 mods. 1. A lever to keep the button pushed down. 2. A slide switch to switch on/off the vibration motor.

Im a little late on this topic. but yes do by one, and yes mod it. I have modded pokemon go pluses and my main reason is safety. Even when your not suppose to play when driving, most do it. having it modded allows you to keep you game on and still collect stops and catch pokemon.
If you enjoy feeling like a trained monkey pressing a button at the feel and sound of a buzzer by all means, don't mod it. Just saying...
