Only thing left in PGO is soloing level 3 raids

Level 1 and 2 raids are too easy so no one bothers with them unless of course you need to use up your daily raid pass before end of day.

Level 4 raids are either impossible or too easy. In rural areas there is just not enough players for them, and in cities there are too many players so that you can use weedles and what not to take them down easily. You could obviously argue that the rewards are good, but that just brings me to the next point.

There is no need for good pokemons.

You dont want good defenders as you want your gyms to be taken down. And there is no need for having more than 1-2 gyms.

There is no need for good attackers either, unless you want to take down level 3 raids solo, so is acquiring squads to beat level 3 raids solo the only thing keeping this game alive?

Although I'm sure in a few days time everyone will be able to do that easily.

Level 5 raids will be a thing. You will need maxed out legendary counters.

Difficult.

Needed: 6 double-stone-golems level 30

Already there:
One double-stone-golem level 20.
Some high-iv-geodudes
400 candies
160k dust.

Additional needed approx:
3 QM-TM
3 CM-TM
240k Dust
350 Candies.

To max them out (Trainer Level 36 atm) it needs way more ressources.
Hopefully, the second and third best counters will do the job too.

A few double dark Tyranitars will also be needed, but these are currently easier to obtain than golems.

And one double bug scizor for celebi.

Sure, it might be a thing. But just like level 4 raids, the only thing that matters would be how many trainers that turns up.

I can't seem to find a reason to play. Now that they have made it pointless to grind to get better Pokémon I can't seem to find the motivation to do anything. At the bare minimum I would leave my phone while I worked to hatch eggs and I don't even do that now. Oh wells, was something to do while it lasted.

Are you sure you can solo lv3? I've heard you have to be efficient attacking and dodging charge attacks.. either you won't be in time.

I'd like to try but I do not want to waste my pass soloing.

I tried to solo an Arcanine yesterday, because of nothing better to do with my raid pass and it just happened that nobody else turned up over the whole time. I am level 35 and I went at it with nearly maxed out attackers - Vaporeon with Hydropump or Aqua Tail, Rhydon with Mud Slap & Stone Edge, Gyarados with Bite & Hydropump, Kabutops with Mud Shot & Stone Edge, and a few general attackers (Tyranitar, Dragonite). In all cases I was only able to take out about 4/5 of its stamina before running out of time. Dodging made things worse, not better. I never used more than three attackers before timeout.

Maybe with one more level and all attackers fully maxed out it might be possible.

I tried soloing a Flareon with five level Vaporeons (2 with Hydro Pump, 3 with Aqua Tail) all b/w 2600-3000 CP. Timed out during my 3rd or 4th Vaporeon with no dodging. Probably need 5-10 more seconds to solo.

You can solo level 3, but it isn't easy because you need a carefully selected team. That is why it is a challenge.

Level 1 and 2 are not difficult.
I think Level 4 and 5 are impossible.

Yes, I have soloed many level 3 raids.

You need strong attackers for the specific pokemon. Also, no dodging whatsoever. Heal if necessary, and rejoin battle before timeout.

Everyone will be able to this in a couple of days time.

I agree with you.

The gym turn-around (for me) is so slow there are no gyms to attack and I don't get coins.
No coins means I can't buy incubators.
Attacking gyms and solo lvl 1, 2 are too easy.
Rhydons are too powerful against gyms.
Lvl 4, 5 solo are not possible.

In the meantime I am trying to improve my collection and doing one raid a day.

I imagine that soon enough Niantic will tweak the game, so I wouldn't get disappointed yet
