Background - didn't have a raid group until Entei came to town. Got one really crappy IV (ads - 10/12/10, Thunder, not powered up) Zapdos by chance, no Moltres, Articuno, or Raichu (!!!).
As research breakthroughs, got 4 Moltres. After the first one (ads) 11/12/15, I excitedly powered it up to level 26, and was going to go higher when I found we would get more. Yes, I know, should have been patient, not acted on incomplete information. Later in the month, got a 91% with 15 attack (15/13/13). That one is powered up to level 21 so far, and I'm sitting on three Moltres candy and 58 rare candy, but I plan on continuing to do tier 5 raids, maybe 1-2 a day, so the stream of RC should remain open. Both have FS/OH. I have 350k dust.
Now, it looks like Moltres will be very relevant for Regice and Registeel. But, just around the bend, Heatran will be coming, moving all the other Fire legendaries into a distant second place or worse.
Should I:
1) Power up neither Moltres, relying on my Entei (L31, mid 80%), the level 26 Moltres, and a solid list of Machamps (4, led by a 98% at level 36) with a Breloom, Fighting Blaziken, and 100% Hariyama at level 36 to carry the freight, along with 2 high level SD/SE Ttars (see below).
2) Power up the level 26 Moltres to level 30 (32 candy) so that I have one, because the niche for Fire/Flying is different than the one Heatran will fill, and is useful for Regice and Registeel.
3) Power up the level 21 Moltres (91%) because one should only invest in good legendaries, it's the best Moltres I'll get, and for the reasons in #2 above, even though it will cost 62 candy to get to level 30.
4) Screw all of this and focus on getting some Ttars ready for the EX raid I'll be doing next Wednesday afternoon. Have a 98% Ttar at level 40 with B/SE (now obsolete), two strong ones with fair IVs at level 35 and 33 with SD/SE, and two good ones with strong IVs (80-90) with BC at level 30. I already have a level 36 PC/SB Mewtwo (14/14/10) and a level 30 C/P Mewtwo (11/12/15) that I love for Machamp solos.
5) Not give a crap about any of this, because the Regis are all defensive monsters that can't defend a gym, and focus on powering up my 100% Kyogre, 100% Hariyama, and save resources for my soon to be 100% Mamoswine and the level 30 100% Magicarp I caught. (Water festival was good to me, yes it was). Have plenty of candy for all the above except, of course, Kyogre, where I have 9 if I don't catch any last minute Kyogre raids.
Any advice appreciated, just keep it civil. (This is what keeps the game interesting for me, limited resources and lots of possible avenues to take.)
First off, you seem to be some what humble bragging, that may not be intended, but just and observation.
second, I think focus the Tyranitar, I haven't been lucky enough to get an EX raid pass, but knpw how strong tyranitar is against it, Dark DPS is what made it. You dont need to worry about pwering up poekmon for the Regi's, as any decently sized group can take them down even with out, 'optimal' counters
2) No
1 and 3) It depends on how much you want Moltres. If its not a pokemon you love, then you probably wont need to power him up, and you already have a good team for the Regis. Heatran is coming yes, but then again as you said Moltres has his niche, so if you eventually will want a powered up Moltres, do it now. (91%)
4) Your dinousaurs sound like they dont need more powering up (check their breakpoints they are probably alright, maybe 1 or 2 lvls missing)
5) Kyogre can wait, he will still be the best in any coming raid where Water is needed. Hariyama can definitely wait. Power up Gyarados after Kyogre, and Mamoswine when we need Ice.
Wouldn't invest anything in Moltres.
Yes, he is the best for Regice/steel. But not by much. Which means u need high investments that it's really better than the Machamps/Flareons/Hariyamas/Charizards u probably already have at a respectable level.
RC seem to be a problem of u anyway...
So yeah, fuck this and use the RC u have on your Kyogre
