hi, i have a little question

how much difference is in the performance of a metagross with 15 attack iv and one with 0?

i got a shiny beldum on the community day with 0 0 0 iv and evolved it too metagross with meteor mash

have a lucky shiny metagross with 93% (15 attack, 12 defence, 15 hp) with meteor mash at level 40 and i am thinking about maxing my 0% one just for the fun.

atm it is level 17, would need 260 candy and 238800 stardust, nothing much

Congrats on the shiny 0% beldum!

I got one but it wasn't shiny. Really jealous.

A 15 atk Metagross has theoretically 5.8% more attack power than a 0% (257 base attack). In practice, it will be somewhere around that depending on breakpoints.

so, it should be worth too level up?
just for the "fun" factor

have like 350 candy and 2mil stardust

A perfect Scizor's stats are 251/206/155.
A 0% IV Metagross's stats are 257/247/160.
A 0% Metagross not only has better stats in all respects, it also has better moves than Scizor. I could see someone powering up a perfect Scizor as a steel attacker for fun (and they'd still get SOME use out of it). Heck, I could see someone powering up ANY pokemon if they find it fun.

Conclusion: the fun factor is there and additionally MM Metagross is really good too, regardless of IVs. Win-win situation, I say.

a 0% IVs MM metagross hits most of its relevant breakpoints (that I could find) by lvl 34.5. There's a couple exceptions: you need a 14 atk MM metagross at lvl 40 (or 15 at 39.5) to go from 8 damage to 9 damage to a tyrannitar with bullet punch. Not a big deal, very much in min-maxing territory. Articuno has a similar atk breakpoint.

If you want to power up the 0%, it will only cost you 50% more dust to power up the lucky too. Best of both worlds, and you could use them both in a Togetic raid.
