Lunatone and moon cycle

Caught 2 Lunatones earlier tonight, with the real moon over the horizon, approaching First Quarter (having the same shape as Lunatone), in game weather Clear.
My first Lunatones also were in Clear weather and 1-2 days before First or after Last Quarter (Jan 23rd and Feb 9th).

Just a random coincidence or has a pattern been confirmed before?
