How good are the current boxes?

The CD bonus is useful for paid incubators only if you run full paid incubators at all times. Reducing the distance of the paid incubator doesn't add value, it still only hatches 3 eggs. If you hatch them faster so you can go back to running only the infinite incubator, you get a negligible benefit at best.
It's super good for people running only the infinite though.

Anyway, the boxes are Meh unless you want Incubators. Then they're kinda sorta probably worth it, sorta maybe kinda okay. If you don't mind tossing out other things - like Lure Modules (seriously, I've still got some Lure Modules from one of the Summer 2017 boxes) - then you'll like the big box.
Not really, no. It's a 5min drive or 10min walk from where I work to the nearest Pokestops (and 5min to find parking, so essentially 10min away), so not enough time at lunches, and I've got kids, so after work and on the weekends it's time spent with the kids. I do a majority of my playing in the carpool on the way to and from work (when I'm not the driver), and when I'm at work and Pokémon spawn near where I am.
Outside of that, most of what I do now is Raiding and catching Pokémon in the area while I'm there. I don't even need to grind for Pokeballs anymore thanks to Gifting and Gold Gyms on my way to work.
