Has anyone been using the friend option to level quickly?
I started playing a while ago(6 months or so), and wondered how fast I could hit level twenty. So on a bet from a friend, I quit using my first account and started a new one. I hit level 20 within a week or so using the bonuses from friend leveling. Anyone else kinda feel like that’s cheating? For leveling to great friend (7days of play)you get 10,000 xp, 20,000 xp using a lucky egg. I didn’t stay in one place the whole time though. I go running for an hour almost everyday. I was able to pass (in player level) some people who had been playing casually since day one in about three weeks using this style of playing. I can already solo tier 1 and 2 so I’m working up to tier 3. I haven’t been able to do any tier 4 and 5 tho due to my playing solo most times. This is kind weird right?

Massive amounts of xp in the game nowadays, why not have multiple accounts & use to your advantage? It's the only way for some rural trainers to get on in this game. I get why many veterans are salty about it given how hard reaching lvl40 used to be but it is what it is & personally I don't have a problem with it.
It's how the game is nowadays, friendship exp is both a catchup mechanic so new players don't need to be limited by their level that long and a way for hardcore players to see their exp grow faster than ever before.
I personally think it might be a sign that they'll introduce more trainer levels eventually. They could've dropped a 0 from all the friendship exps and it'd still have been pretty good.
I make a 2nd account to duoing T4 in March 2018. It is now level 39 and i am not grinding as much as i used to. Need a year to reach lv 39 with my main account in August 2017, when i decided to take it slow. That is how easy to gain XP nowadays.
As for strenght, actually using 2 acc and know what you are doing can make new trainer as strong as or even stronger than old lv 40 that not preparing their squad properly.
It look empty stats wise, but can solo all T3 raids except Shuckle (no one can), Duoing most T4, even duoing Articuno, Moltres, almost win against Zapdos, and duoing Deoxys (actually the easiest one)
Strong enough to 4 man all the Regis and a new Mewtwo, even get 3 personal bonus damage with 7-8 trainers in Mewtwo raids.
So yeah new trainer is empty in XP and stats, but not necesarily weak..
Pretty much yes at the begining.
Now there is a small grup of trainesr in area where i live, mostly new player and 2-3 comeback trainer.
Failed to 5 acc raids against absol when i first met them. I promise them that we will be able to win against legendary that show in the only 3 gym in my area, regardless of what it is ( Registeel at that time) All i ask is they try my advice/ guidance first within a week, and if its not working they can just ignore me and called me a liar.
After that i give them Machamp that i have and evolving high level machop before trading it. All i said just forget about IV, just use it if it has a fighting move, use it against the Regis, and take Tyranitar by yourself (5 trainer at that time) when i am not around
Yesterday 7 trainer, 3 early thirties, 2 in their twenties, and 2 new player still at 18 and 19 manage to win against mewtwo, it is PC-TB and win it with less than 20 second left, but it is still a win. What surprise me is they (all valor) that ask to splitting the group, so i join the 6 other as we have 12+1 acc now, but full 13 acc is rare, mostly 5-7 in raid
I kind a proud to see they can do that Mewtwo raid by themselves
So yes, it will be easier for a new trainer if an old trainer want to help and share, not just carry them in a raid (it will be a bad thing in the long run)
