Gyms are unplayable in my area now.

Multi-accounters in my area are abusing the Network Error glitch after a raid to prevent attacks on their gyms.

Every time their gym gets attacked, they use a different colour alt to attack the gym and sabotage the attackers. They even go to the extent of creating alts to do level 1-2 raids at their gyms for this purpose. The worst thing is, some of them live on top of gyms, and they can easily disrupt attackers from the comfort of their home.

This is insanely hardcore for 50 coins a day.

Take the gym and send a screen recording to Niantic with the trainer names involved. That’s about the only thing you can do other than getting lucky.

Is it even against the TOS?
And I don't know exactly who is involved. It may well just be one of them spoofing with an alt doing this, without the rest of the group knowing.

Spoofing and alt are against the ToS, but you have no way of proving that. Try to bring awareness of this bug and how it gets exploited. Maybe Niantic will care if enough will complain.

Yes, I forgot about the alt part. But,

1: If I report the whole group, I’m assuming that all of them are using this exploit. This may not be the case. The rest of the group might not even know that one of them is doing this!

2: They may not actually be spoofing. It’s just a possibility, even though I think it’s not likely. And the TOS doesn’t forbid hiding up high rise buildings.

Wait whats the network error clitch?

After you raid at a gym, if you try to attack the gym, you will get Network Error 2 after one battle. Or sometimes, in the first battle. And it affects all attackers, not just the ones who raided previously.

so they waste a raid pass for 100 coins to defend a gym for 50 coins? do I get something wrong here?

They’re probably using free passes on Alts to keep their mains in the gym or their Alts in the gym to get gold. There are some people in my area who aggressively take certain gyms and will hold them for as long as they can to get the gym gold then move on

They do it to get coins. They are the regular players in the area, and some of them even live on top of a gym.

I’m not really affected by it as I can go to other areas to get my coins, but it is worrying enough as if this becomes widespread, it can make gyms unplayable everywhere.

GRBs can only stop players from taking down the defenders. It can’t stop players from attacking non stop to farm their gold badge. This glitch can stop players from farming their gold badge as well.

Huh, this is an exploit I've never heard of until now. My advice would be to report the situation directly to Niantic, and be sure to explain exactly how this particular exploit works. Be as precise and detailed as you can (how to trigger the glitch, how long it lasts, who is affected by it, etc), so they can understand exactly how it's done. There's no guarantee that they'll do anything about it, but it certainly doesn't hurt to make them aware of the issue.

Niantic are the biggest cheaters. Glitches constantly rob raid passes, coins and even stardust from players. That is why cheating is so rampant in this game (and of course, bad game design that punishes players with one account). /s

Don’t forget that their glitches rob shiny/rare Pokemon from players too.

Sound to me that you know how to get around the network error issue assuming if they don't sabotage your attack, please share your method. After raid, I abandon any idea attacking the gym due network error.

I didn't raid at the gym earlier. They did, and they enter the battle to disrupt the attack.
