Golem vs. Rhydon

Can someone explain why Rhydon MS/EQ is a better counter to Flareon Raid Boss than RT/SE Golem? Yes Rhydon has 11 more base attack but that doesn't seem to make up for MudSlap being slower than RockThrow. Also if you say Rhydon is Nr. 1 counter, why not MS/SE?

I have both at level 35.5 and my Golem seems to perform better, maybe I need to level up more to make MudSlap superior?

Best Boss Raid attacker for Flareon is Dragonite with HT/OUT.
Then Tyranitar with B/Cr.
Then Vap with WG/AT
Then Vap with WG/HP
5th place belongs to Rhydon MS/EQ.
The reason is DAMAGE from attackers.
Golem has relatively low damage and can not to be superior counter in raid.

I'm completely disagree with Gamepress Raid Boss Counters list.

Because TIME is matter in raid battle.

How on Earth is that Crunch is superior to Stone Edge against fire?

Very simple - damage generated per real time battle.
You do not battle 1 sec.
Crunch of Tyranitar does 162 damage per 100% energy taken for Flareon.
SE of Tyranitar does 108 damage.
SE of Rhydon does 96 damage
SE of Golem does 91 damage
EQ of Rhydon does 115 damage
AT of Vap does 132 damage
HP of Vap does 115 damage
HP of Gyarados does 133 damage
OUT of Dragonite does 178 damage

Numbers of damage from same level and IV attackers against same Flareon.

I am sorry but your list is nonsense, did you ever solo a Tier 3 boss? You will need super effective attacks if you want to finish in time and Vap has lower cycle DPS than Golem or Rhydon.

Yes, I won solo against Tier 3.
Only Dragonites and Tyranitars were used.

Forget about DPS, because you do not battle 1 sec.
You battle during period of time. That is reason why we need DAMAGE per PERIOD of TIME (DPT) not DPS.

In period of time you can generate more damage with 2 or 3 portions of lower DPS than 1 portion higher DPS.
As simply as that.
What Dragonites and Tyranitars do.

Mikalay: You are freakin' terrible at explaining yourself :P

What Mikalay is getting at is that the DPS of any single attack comes second to the Damage over Time. In the instance of a World of Warcraft type scenario for example, the DPS of an attack would be the burst damage—useful in a PvP situation—but against a raid boss you want to be dealing sustainable high damage.

He is, however, incorrect with regards to Crunch (I suspect you haven't factored the additional time required to perform all three charge attacks). You can work it all out mathematically. I've attached a link to a rough spreadsheet with it all calculated out for Tyranitar.
