Gengar Duo - Party #2 or Top Revives?

I'm planning to attempt some Duo's at Gengar Day and since rejoining seems to be pretty likely, I'd like to know if it's worth trying to top revive my main Party instead of rejoining with Party #2. I'm using an Android phone and know, that Apple devices run smoother, so... any advice?

PS: My SB Mewtwo knows PC currently, I'll TM to Confusion by then

My advice is: Use the lobby glitch to get +3 seconds on the raid. Also, use max revives to your team(s) in order to maximize the DPS. Good luck! I'm going to try it too!

That's my setup. Me and my brother are going to take the challenge:

Lv 40 91% Gengar SC/SB
Lv 40 82% Gengar SC/SB
Lv 40 89% Mewtwo CF/SB
Lv 40 96% Mewtwo CF/PS
Lv 40 91% Mewtwo CF/PS
Lv 40 100% Espeon CF/FS

My brother's setup (He's level 37 btw):

Lv 39 98% Mewtwo CF/PS
Lv 36 96% Alakazam CF/FS
Lv 31 100% Espeon ZH/FS
Lv 35 84% Espeon CF/FS
Lv 36 96% Houndoom SN/CR
Lv 31 96% Houndoom SN/CR

We did the simulations and we're going to be able to defeat every single Gengar's set but Shadow Ball ones. In that cases we have like 70% of chance if we get good RNG :/ Although we have tried even simulate with full Dark-type teams but we get only defeats with them.

I see, Shadow Ball should be the more problematic set for us, too. My Partner is Lv36, but uses his ressources pretty wisely and outdamages many of our local 40s.
He'll use 1 Gengar (Hex), 1 Espeon, 1 Mewtwo (Psychic) and 3 Tyranitar all ranging between L35 and 38 with min. 14 Att IV, hope we can make it.
Wish you good Luck! I'm collecting Screenshots for every Raid I can Solo (T1-3) or Duo (T4-5) and really want to add this one to my album :)

Good luck to both of you too! Hope I can see that screenshots on this page too!

My experience is mostly based on tier 5 raids. Trioing Giratina etc.

Imo a second team is better, be sure to put pre-selected teams it in right order; just 1 swipe + rejoin. Reviving takes more time than you think.

That's what I usually do, but the numbers Calcy throws out make me think about another strategy - I don't have the experience, so maybe others have.
Reviving would probably take me about 10 secs, so I don't know (+X-seconds for normal relobbying time)

interesting question actually. my feeling is that going team 2 is by far the best but if someone would crunch the numbers that would be interesting.

Found an old reddit thread and in no general consensus. https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/93sja6/whats_better_in_raids_max_reviving_two_or_three/

Another trick might be that on the sixth pokemon, before fainting, going out to the lobby, change to you second team and rejoin. Thus thus skipping that white screen with the text ''all your pokemons have fainted''

I don’t know any of those words.

Depends, your A team has on average 28 DPS vs 23 DPS of your B team. Let's say it takes you 15 extra seconds to revive, in that time your B team would do 23*15=345 damage. Your A team does +5 more DPS, so it will need 345/5=69 seconds to make up the gap. If you think the fight will last more than that, then revive, if not then go with your B team. If you can revive in 10 sec, it will only take you 46 sec to close the gap.

I feel kinda dumb now, because I didn't come to this by myself, so thank you very much for pointing the math out. I think, I have a better overview now

My main have 6 mewtwo shadow ball all max out
3 Gengar SC, 3 Gengar Hex all max out
6 Ttar Dark 35-40
And can make a squad of 2 Alakazam, 2 Espeon, 2 Metagross lv 35-40

My 2nd have 4 Gengar, 2 Mewtwo
6 Tyranitar
2 espeon, 2 alakazam, 1 metagross, 1 latias (i like latias)
All around lv 35

Best friend already, so i am gonna do 2nd battle party
Doing max revive is easier if you really duo it with other people, but one man 2 device is still doable but harder, 2nd battle party is easier to do in that situation
