Which Pokemon you really liked in the main series turned out to be useless in PoGo? Why did you like it?
For me it's Kingdra, it was an easy to get pokemon with decent stats and a remarkable defensive typing, but unfortunately none of that matters in GO

Claydol. This thing was actually one of my favorite pokemon because he looks cool and he was half decent in an actual pokemon game but in Pokemon Go it transformed into a huge pile of SHIT. I use him in Tier 1 raids (Begging EX Passes) if possible.

It's the first Pokemon that I've come up to as well. Also Altaria but at least it has the potential to become useful with a Mega

Skarmory. Could tank and Wall pretty much any non-special attack.

Starmie as special attacker.

Kangaskhan and Tauros. In the (online) Card Game they can be absolute beasts. Absolute monsters knocking out any opposing Active Pokémon with a single attack. In PoGo they're dex fillers and not particularly useful for either offense or defense.

I'm sorry I have to pick a fight over Lapras again, but it was a top tier attacker for almost the first year of the game's existence. A top tier attacker is not useless.

Except it IS useless now.
I maxed a perfect double legacy Lapras back in the day -my first perfect to be precise- and it is so sad that they turned it into hot garbage. I loved my Lapras and how it walled so many players in gyms

I read "turned out to be useless in POGO" as "has never been useful in POGO". Maybe your interpretation is different, but when I think of a useless pokemon, I think of something that has always been trash, like Suicune. Lapras had a long time in the limelight all things considered.

I guess your Lapras didn't have dual ice moves if it turned into hot garbage. I would've been thrilled to have a good double ice Lapras to attack Dragonites with.

I found Walrein really useful against Rayquaza, but I was living in a Spheal rich biome with snow...

I said was, not is.
Lapras and Walrein are both useless now, but both were good counters to Rayquaza and Lapras was an absolute star attacker in the first gym system.

Umbreon... Sadly only attack stats matter, so the nice bulk doesn't help. Especially tragic when you compare it with the other eevees. I still use it as last slot in bigger Mewtwo raids to avoid fainting out and I will max him eventually. Still tragic. In the maingame it was a pretty decent wall with a somewhat limited movepool.

Another vote here for Nido royalty! Great fan of Nidoking in the main games for its versatility and its badass look. I gave him through TMs any attack the other attackers of my team couldn't learn. Plus earthquake which was very powerful then. Liked Nidoqueen as well. Those two were my best fighters when I did Red limiting myself to poison types only! Behind Gengar maybe.

I have been willing to power up that 91% fury cutter/earthquake Nidiking for a while to fight electrics, but it was never a good investment considering my resources and the competition... Heck, I have the candy and dust to spare now, I should do it, just because I can!
