Comprehensive DPS/TDO Spreadsheet Help

So ive just updated my Gamepress Pokemon box to add all my pokemon to get a better understanding of how much damage each of my pokemon do, at their current levels in order for me to build an optimal 6 man team for raids.

Using the Comprehensive DPS/TDO Spreadsheet and clicking my pokemon i am looking at my best counters for Dialga. All columns are pretty self explanatory, however what exactly is the column doing in DPS^3*TDO?

If i sort by this is this providing a list of the best Pokemon to go with averaging both TDO and DPS?

Just trying to understand for example if my level 27 toxicroak for example will provide more damage than my level 20 machamp.

Is the DPS^3*TDO column providing an average total damage figure?

It's basically a measure of DPS multiplied by TDO, with additional weighting to DPS, to give an overall performance figure of the pokemon in question. The weighting towards DPS is because, particularly for raids, time is pretty much always a factor.

If you're short-manning or going for a speed record, then I'd just concern myself with DPS.

DPS^3*TDO is probably more useful for those occasional where time isn't so critical, where you want something to last more than 5 seconds (e.g. to preserve potions/revives), but also do care about your damage output.

DPS^3*TDO is used to measure a Pokemon's overall performance in the sheet.

The term "overall performance" is very vaguely defined so DPS^3*TDO is just one quantitative way to define it. Our ultimate goal is always maximizing your DPS throughout the raid battle, but such "whole time DPS" does not equal to individual Pokemon's DPS due to swapping and relobbying. Higher TDO indicates less number of deaths and hence (potentially) less swapping and relobbying on average, so TDO influences whole time DPS and must be factored.

We tried DPS*TDO before but that over-weighted TDO and made Pokemon like Lugia top. After some experiments, we found out that DPS^3*TDO matches empirical experience the best.
