Community day strikes again!
I am in Asia zone and the community day does not let us down by showing the exactly same (or even worse) problem from the last time.
The game lagged and login takes forever and a day. Niantic announced they would extend the Asia zone for 2 hours. Ok that was fine.
But what is the worst is that during the event period, the time for evolving into Tyranitar to get smack down move only lasted 2 hours!!! I spent all my candies gathered on a good iv larvitar. And got an iron tail-fire blast move combination.
This is devastating for me and this might be the end of this game for me as I am having less and less time. I gave my Saturday on this event and look how Niantic rewarded me with. Goodbye pokego

I noticed severely bad lag spikes tonight while attacking/berrying gyms, catching Mons (even the Plus was lagging). Thought it was my phone at first, until our local Discord started blowing up since everyone was experiencing the same issues.
Luckily, I'm in the Americas, so hopefully they have everything sorted by tomorrow, but my sincerest condolences to those who had their CD experiences ruined by server issues. From what I've read, this has been a frequent occurrence. Poor form, Niantic. Trainers across the globe should have an equal opportunity for a successful community day.
They extend the event...but that doesn't help when we have spent lucky eggs/star pieces/incense already, at a time that the game is a potato.
Sure we get extra time to catch what their failing made us miss out on...but the items we spend real money on are lost forever, without so much as a mention.
It would be interesting to see how many items that cost real money were used (and wasted) during the chaos all because Niantic fail to maintain their potato farm.
I kinda enjoyed this CD. No doubt the first hour was frustrating, but Niantic made up our losses by extending the hours. After the first hour, catch rate was so high that one could basically throw any ball + a pineapple, and earned 7 candies. I always evolve at least one mon before the extension to warrent an exclusive move.
Super early in the morning in America, but another concern I would have is weather. Some places with bad performance could miss out on the boosted conditions and those be replaced with neutral.
Always hot here, but a real possibility of clouds/rain today. We had no boost on Venusaur nor Charizard...it was hot on the latter but got windy for two hours after some clouds broke.
Same problem in Hong Kong, every reboot cannot show any pokestops and gyms in the first place till few minutes. Also, when you click on any Larvitar, it just shows error and disappear from the screen. Even when you turn on incense and lucky egg, it’s hard to activate them until few tries. Another worse case is that you cannot spin anything from pokestop, it says network error all the times. Really though when compared with previous CD. However, when catching during the last 1.5 hr, the system behavior become better.
Went from Shenzhen crossboarder to Hongkong for the great day. Yes lucky egg and starpiece wasted. But definitely after 12.15 everything was fine in Kowloon/Prince Edward East. And developed my last shiny full shortly before 16.00. Also lucky weather boost the whole time though clearest of skys. A new arme but that does not help in HK to stay in a gym for more than 30 min.
There were problems in Europe as well and also, it seems, in America.
I've never had problems this bad before. Usually there's like minor issues, but nothing that really bothers me. This was, however, really frustrating.
Two things:
1. If this is something that occurs every CD, then surely Niantic knows about it by now and should be able to fix it. They've had a few months to solve the problems.
2. If they are having problems then it's nice of them to extend the event. But doing so and not extending the window during which you have to evolve your Pokemon....that's just messed up.
I really hope it was just a mistake (doesn't really help the people affected though). If so, then surely they should do something to fix it.
