Community day prep

Why does the latest article says : " it's inadvisable to catch anything until start time" ? Just to get the 1800 triple star dust from the 1st catch of the day ?
I was planning a hardcore grind from 6am to 6pm I think I'll stick to this plan.

My guess is :
1) you don't want to get tired before the event which lasts for three hours

2) save all the pokeballs for the event

Because you would rub yourself the chance of getting triple stardust for some Pokemon if you catch all spawned pokemon right before the event starts (if the event starts, there would be less Pokemon, as there could be)
It doesn't really make a difference if you don't want to catch everything or aren't able to, because too many Pokemon spawn, not enough balls, etc

Personally, I'll stop 10min before the event starts

Maybe concern for daily catch limit.

I don't know what the limit is currently at. You wouldn't want to be grinding all morning, then get part way through the 3 hour event and not be able to catch any more.

It's a rolling 3500 limit per week but the exact mechanics of it aren't that well documented.

Prior to last community day some people were talking about adjusting their catch streak to occur on community day and not catching anything until the event started just to get the really big bonus at the start of the event.

Personally, I think the additional bonus (4800 total roughly) pales in comparison to missing an entire day of catching (to set streak - 20-30k) and a half day of not catching (waiting for event - 10-15k).

The bonuses are nice, but definitely not worth adjusting your playstyle for. I mean if you have to work in the morning anyways and you'd only be giving up a few hunderd or a few thousand it might be worth waiting. But the lost opportunity cost is too high for me.

This calculation only takes into account this CD. If they continue to be on Saturday it might be worth the loss of 20-30k in the long run.

I plan to hard grinding for three hours, throwing a golden berry and great/ultra ball on every catch. Hopefully, I can net ~200 mons and get +90k dust with the help of starpieces.

I think you can easily get more than 200 mons if you're in a spawn rich area. 50 mons every 30 minutes isn't hard at all to pull off and with the catch screen skip you can potentially catch a new mon every 7-10 seconds which amounts to even greater numbers.

I saw a Makuhita and I just couldn't hold back... can't get the triple dust bonus anymore. And I'm still looking for a good Makuhita.
