Anyone using their Mew?

When people started finally catching their Mew (after evolving a Magikarp :p), there was a lot of discussion of "which moveset should I give it".

This seems to have died down, I'm wondering if anyone actually ended up using their Mew for attacking, cause I don't think I've seen any in battles as they're just not that useful. It was overhyped.

Every discussion about Mew was full of people saying it's not really the best for anything and that there isn't a good use for it, definitely don't think it was overhyped.

Personally haven't used mine even once despite it being maxed, but I plan to bring it along to gym fights as a fun generalist at some point. Haven't had enough FTMs to feel comfortable about gambling on the moveset yet.

When I see in my list an interesting, but not very strong Pokemon that I have not used in a long time, I rotate it into my Fun team of attackers. Mew is a fixture in this team. He sees quite a lot of action.

But I do not use him for serious fights. Even after feeding him all the Mew candy he came with, his CP is still below 1900. I would need to give him quite a lot of rare candy. But there is always a more useful legendary cutting into line in front of him.

My Mew has Struggle Bug and Thunderbolt, so I guess he would be useful in Starmie raids - but my Dark team is just so much stronger. Sorry, little guy.

I used my mew a couple of times against latios, but just for fun. It’s true, it’s not best for anything, but it’s a tanky option for certain situations. I was able to get shadow claw/blizzard after using 6FTMs/ 6-8CTMs. I could probably use more FTMs to try to get a better move like dragon tail if rayquaza comes back. I powered up mine to about lvl 32. I was going to power it up some more, but I focused on optimal counters first because my priority is to do more raids with fewer people.

I think it still is fun to see it. Sadly, I usually find myself in situations where my raid group is in dire need of dps, so I go for my dragonites instead of the mew. I think it is fun to see something different from just the usual optimal counters.

I got lucky and used 2 TM's to get Shadow Claw and Ice Beam. He's an adorable attacker for partially or fully demotivated gyms if you're sick of using Machamp for everything

Mew is more of a "jack of all trades, master of none" kind of Pokemon. It's fun to use and depending on the moveset can clear gyms fast, but raids favor premier specialists which it sadly isn't in any case. I think the closest it comes to that would be dual Ice for Rayquaza raids since it has the bulk most Ice types lack, not to mention lacking a rock weakness against Ancient Power variants.

My Mew has dragon tail/solar beam so I have actually been using him on a team for Blizzard Kyogre. He is decent and withstands the Blizzard better than grass attackers would. Plus, its fun to use him.

Mew is on my default gym battle squad because I love it and it's fun. So yes, I use mine every day. But for raids, no, unless we have so many that it doesn't matter what I use because 1 damage ball is all I'm getting anyway.

I love using Mew, have Shadow Claw/Psyshock with over 500 gym battles won, used it during fighting event raid 3 bosses and use against Machamp solo raids. Not because I don’t have better but because it’s fun to use, maxed out with a fun moveset and I can still beat the raid easily.
