Any idea what this bonus is for?

It was not a critical catch, and I know haven't gotten this bonus for a critical catch. So I can't figure out what it is for. Any idea what this bonus is for?

Answers

"Bonus" is for catching a hundredth multiple of a species, for example the 100th, 200th, 300th of any Pokemon will give you an extra 100 XP.

I've always explained it as PoGo making up for all the times you get an Excellent through on a Green Circled Pokémon and it jumps out. Kind of a "Yeah, we fucked up the code there, sorry." sort of bonus.

Yours is probably the right one, but I like mine better. :-P
