Will weak mon strategy work?

i put literally what i caught in last minute. It really doesnt really matter.
Dont ever put something with rare candy or people will feed all day.

Does it even work at all? The number of fights you have to do against a defender is more important for the total time then the length of the individual fight. (Fully motivated fat one are an exception.) Unless weak mons lose a high portion of their motivation from each fight, they will make little difference. I try to motivate attackers by placing rare defenders.

....and I just read the comment of GottaPeachEmAll about the effect of rare candies on feeding. Darn.

One strategy that has got me to the max gold since the patch, is working with the other players in my area. Sadly, there are few instinct so valor holds 3 gyms and down the road I will hold 3 and once a day we will take just one of the others down. Truthfully, not very fun. Due to no competition needed.
Personally, I hope they innovate their new system quickly.

The only fool proof strategy is to be a former gym shaver and use your alt account to bring home a mon every day. I think Niantic just wants to see more accounts opened (cheaters or not).
