What’s wrong with Blizzard on Cloyster?

Or Cloyster’s move list in general? Icy Wind a B set really? So ice shard/blizzard was the best defender move set (still shown as the best on the GoDex) but now it’s near the bottom of the list. It doesn’t seem to be nerfed so why the change? I’d understand it be moved down to a B grade if Avalanche was better but this remix I don’t follow? Was the list wrong before or is it wrong now?

Maybe it's because blizzard is a One bar charge move, and sometimes(maybe a lot of times) it'll happen that your Cloyster dies before even use it, unlike Icy Wind and Avalanche. If you notice, Hydro Pump is on the bottom of the list too.

I dodge normally and even use Blizzard with my 2140CP Cloyster FB/B. Its pretty good, it take down at least 2 Dragonites.

I think most 1 bar moves tend not to be favorable for defending much but attacking yeah blizzard is good.

1 bar movesets probably at max will be launched 1 time over the fight, that is why, even if its one shot move, if the pokemon defender wont use it, then its not optimal, but if he use it and lands can be insta win, like hydropump in gyarados vs jolteon

take as example too hyperbeam, is slow and will be probably just used once by lets say snorlax...but if it hits it will really hurt you or be a secure lose

this is what happens with 1 bar movesets in defenders

on offense blizzard is pretty good. it seems the damage sequence now happens sooner than it did beforehand.

icy wind is more annoying on defense because they can more likely consecutively throw charge moves. plus any attacks are doing more damage nowadays, so if you don't dodge, you will KO.

if you do get hit with a blizzard though, it'll probably hit you very hard, if not KO you.

the grading system is fairly arbitrary, and is only a means to differentiate one pokemon's various movesets.

the difference now is that since move energy per use, damage and cooldowns changed, it changes the overall rankings. the way that GP seems to be evaluating all these movesets is fairly time consuming as many variables need to be taken into account.

take rankings with a grain of salt, and adjust to what you actually see in the real world. In my eyes, multi-charge moves are way more annoying on defense even if they do less damage. Its more times I have to dodge, avoid server lag, lose attack time and take damage - but this does not mean that I'll ignore a blizzard.

on a side note: even as a dodging attacker, with the stupid game glitches while dodging, i'll occasionally be hit by a hydro pump, which can instantly KO a mon. super annoying.

Pokebattler still has icy wind as the worst for both offense and defense, but that is based on theoretical simulations and doesn't account for stuff like ease of dodging.
