What phones are people using for pokemon go?

The game is only playable on my current phone but it lags out constantly due to 1gb of ram. I would love to be able to play without having to constantly refresh so im looking at other phones.

Started with my 2 years old Nexus 5, only had problems with GPS moving randomly around and bad battery performance, ram was 2gb, I could not do many things but still good playing while listening to music and other normal tasks like searching iv's on the internet or talking.

Now I use a One Plus 3T, 6gb ram ,very happy with it, fast, nice battery duration (can play for 6+ hours without charging) and better gps than my old nexus.

Huawei Y6 Pro
This has 4000mah battery, which is good, but all pro players know that even 4000mah isnt big enough sometimes.

But i regreat little bit buying this one, mainly because i realized you can buy VR goggles for phones but your phone need to be compatible with VR material and this one isnt.

Motorola G4 plus

Reasonably priced but performs well (Standard G4 is worth looking at - just a weaker camera and no fingerprint recognition, but avoid the G4 Play as it only has 1gb of RAM).

Specifications for the G4 play differ from region to region apparently. I have one with 2 GB of ram and the game runs pretty smoothly. The biggest issue is really the bad GPS tracking. It sometimes drives me mad really.
Good GPS signal is probably the most important requirement.

Moto z force. Awesome if you are with Verizon. Large battery, ultra fast charging, piggyback extra battery if you want, 4gb ram, shatterproof screen, Android 7. I think the smaller Moto z is at other retailers.

S7 active is also great, gf has this one, drop proof, waterproof, fast charging, huge battery

My main phone is a Windows phone so I borrowed my daughters old Galaxy Grand Prime (model SM-G531H) to use in tether mode to play.

The game runs fine on the phone with no crashing or overheat issues. The only problem I have is the GPS is wonky sometimes putting me somewhere across the street. But this also works to my advantage because it wanders around at night unattended and hatches eggs for me :)

Asus Zenfone 5.

Despite it having 2Gb of RAM and a 1.66 Dual-Core Intel Atom Processor, which runs the game pretty smoothly, the battery doesn't last more than an hour and a half, two hours at best, running only the game (the notebook processor consumes most of its battery life pretty quickly).

The phone also heats like hell.

Besides, I keep having constant issues with its GPS tracker.

It has Android 5.0 Lollipop.

If its battery lasted longer, the GPS issues would be a little bit more tolerable, because among other things, it is an overall good phone for its price range.

iPhone 6, the game runs smoothly.

Had a 4s model earlier, game constantly froze when I threw balls.
