So there is news that 100 new pokemons are being added to pokemon go in December. So should we start saving candy of some pokemons and stardust and avoid evolution during thanksgiving event which gives double xp??

Candies only works for specific kind of pokemons. As far as I can recall now, the only 4 pokemons that has higher level evolution forms in gen2 are Onix, Seadra, Porygon and Scyther (lower CP after evolution and double weak to fire)

My understanding is that besides the above, also:
- slowbro -> slowking
- zubat/goldbat -> crobat
- eevee- > umbreon/expeon
- chansey -> blissey

As the repliers already mentioned, candies are specific to gen 2 pokemon. However, there are quite a few that are available currently (candies) that will come in gen 2, and the list can be found here: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Pokémon_with_cross-generational_evolutions
