Time space between events is necessary ??

So just when lunar event ends niantic announced valentines day event ... of course we all are happy as there are now new shiny babies and double candy can be earned on community day but i haven't caught one single newly released pokemon which they released like 1-2 weeks ago like combee because of the event spawns ... shouldn't niantic give us some time period between 2 events so that we can catch some regular pokemons or maybe the spawns should be 50-50 ... maybe hardcore players have caught some of these pokemons but for players like me who play for Max 1-2 hours daily this is a big problem

While the Lunar New Year event was terrible for new mon spawns. Ive had good luck with them, so far, in the current event.

I caught one of each of the new pokemon yesterday, and two Shieldon. The double candy helps as each netted me 12 candy, and i was able to evolve my Vespiqueen for the dex entry.

I still need Bastiodon and Rampardos. But i also need good examples to evolve.

Cant really blame niantic for the fact that the lunar new year and valentines day are so close together, they're doing a good job at keeping content fresh as of late

The problem with the Gen 4 rollout in general is that a lot of new Pokemon seem to be made unnecessarily scarce compared to when Gen 3 rolled out new Pokemon. With the exception on the first wave, the Halloween event, and Snover in the winter event new Pokemon have always taken back seats to everything else. I've still only caught a single Finneon, only hatched one Riolu, am missing some of the new babies (got my Mantyke though, that was exciting). Gen 3 found a way to make new Pokemon take the center stage, which makes it all the more disappointing that they took the opposite approach for Gen 4.

during that event i hatched around 36 7 km eggs and hatched just 1 munchlax . No Riolu No Chingling and forget about shiny babies ... i don't even expect them

I don't remember how many eggs I hatched but it felt like they ramped up the Munchlax rates in the second half of the winter event. I hatched one from eggs received in the first half then hatched three more from eggs picked up in the second.

I also got lucky and hatched a shiny Azurill within the first round of eggs, so that makes up for not hatching a Chingling or Mantyke.

They should. But they likely won't give more than 2 weeks between events from now on because we're well past the point in a game's life-cycle where the Whales (ie: players who are spending a crap-ton of money on the game) start to look elsewhere to spend that money. So to keep them interested and occupied, they have to start relying on gimmicks to keep interest.

Some of the whales previously bought too many boxes, a friend in my area (my color) has had 250+ raid passes for a year. He really only got to 40 several months ago, so not a chain raider. I’d hope he does 20+ Chansey raids bc we could use the gym defending help.

"250+ raid passes"
That kind of expenditure blows my mind. Even at their best deal of 24 passes from the Kanto 2018 event box that's still over 16,000 coins needed to buy enough boxes for that many raid passes. No wonder microtransactions are becoming more commonplace in AAA games, why just sell a fully developed $60 once when people are willing to shell out over $100 routinely for filler content?

It's stupidly profitable, no wonder Pogo and several gacha games appear in the top 10 grossing apps in both app stores.

As a player who used to regularly buy coins, I can tell that the more you play and the more hardcore players you know and play with, the easier it gets to ignore the sensible voice inside your head telling you shouldn't be shelling out another 100€ to get the big pack of coins, again. I also know people with a serious incubator addiction and most of them struggle with using raid passes as fast as they're getting them from boxes.

I just can't wrap my head around how people can freely spend that much. I hear of people budgeting $50 a month for this game, like... that's $600/year. For a mobile game that even after all the additions it's received over the last couple of years still has so many faults and complaints about it.

Last year during the summer I was bad with buying boxes, but that was pretty much exclusively for the raid days and Mewtwo month. Now I'm almost exclusively F2P, I did crack and end up buying the ultra box from the lunar event. Either way, my spending money on this game is far from a regular occurrence and I can't fathom how people do it in such larger quantities on the regular.

Just as it is your choice to not spend, it is their choice to spend. Freedom of choice.....and Disposable income probably.

Could be the sole thing they do as a hobby, they may never eat out or never buy items for themselves, no kids etc.

I don't know why people smoke as it offers zero benefit to them and it kills them slowly, but it is their choice to do so, which is all it comes down to.

I play as much as I do bc I have a kid (4y/o boy who hates Pokémon). I don’t spend more than $3 a month though. However, I have a 43 mil XP that “spends” and 100% free level 39, 37, 36 (the extras were started 9/2016, currently just 2 devices). I take my kid to the lighted EX park after work and my wife works Saturdays, so usually at parks then, plus I go to the grocery store/McD/Chick-Fil-a a LOT. Gas is cheap here, but I’m sure I spend 25x as much on gas while playing than on pokecoins.

Disposable income and the overall income level play a big part. $50 per month is less than many other hobbies cost in my country. Heck you can't even properly eat at a decent restaurant for $50, or if you eat, you're not having wine with your meal.

Maybe I'm not as well off as you but $50 a meal seems like it would be a lot more than "decent" in my book lol

I don't know. I've spent lots of money on dumb stuff before so I guess I shouldn't judge how people spend their money too hard. What gets me the most about it I guess is what you're actually *getting* for that $50 a month, but each their own I suppose.

Some of the hardcore players are spending so much time and money on the game that it's getting difficult for normal or casual players to match ... haven't hatched anything special from last 2 months just cleffa and igglituffs
