They really need to widen the raid notification radius
I live very close to the center of our small town and even I can only see raids at 3 of the 5 gyms in town. That probably means that people living just 300m further away from the center don't get ANY raid notifications at all.
That is a problem. Especially when loads of people are complaining about no people turning up at level 3 and 4 raids.
I hereby urge Niantic to widen the raid radius to at least 2km. Give people a chance to actually find these raids.

I actually think a combination of widening the notification radius significantly AND reducing the number of raids would be best. More people would know about the raids and there would be fewer to pick from, which should result in more people showing up at the same raids, which should result in Niantic selling more premium passes because level 3 and 4 raids are now plausible = Everybody is happy!
I don't want them to decrease the number of raids but maybe limit the number of simultaneous level 4s to one within a certain radius. Solo players can easily take levels 1 and 2. And duos can easily take a 3. But if there is only one level 4 going on--and people could get notified of it from a distance--then they would show up for it.
The real issue I have is the 2-hour wait for the egg to hatch. My problem is that I'm here right now. I can't wait 1-2 hours. But if I could see all timers across town, then I could plan my itinerary accordingly.
The gym nearest to my house is 2.3 miles away. After that, more than 4 miles. I didn't see a single raid notification all weekend.
From my office, I can see 2 gyms, and one of them is counting down to a level 3 raid right now. I am going to TRY to go to it. It will be my first raid. I'm not even sure how to get into one!
