Not as an attacker, but he makes a pretty damn good prestiger

I have an army of Tangela.
I have one maxed out VW/SoB to vaporise Vapes, and then a couple of each moveset around the 1200-1300 mark.
You need to dodge charge moves at least, but hits well on Vapes and anything else that grass puts a beating on.

The are great prestigers against Vapes and Rhydon (unless he has Megahorn).
I personally prefer SoB to whipe out the opponent, but PW is not bad at all.

It makes a really good prestigers usually I stick with Exeggutor w/ Solar Beam to melt waters.

I powered up one to 1800 with VW/SoB for use as an attacker, but she gets less use than my 6 unpowered up ones.

Tangela's CP doesn't get high enough to be a good attacker. Venusaur is a better option for attacker. As many others have said, tangela is a great prestiger.

Don't power up, wait for a Venussaur or a Victreebell with A grade attacking movesets. But, if you wanna do it, go for a prestige range around 1300
