The Story of CrazyFastSpoofr

The Story of CrazyFast and CrazyFastSpoofr
So my 14 year old son basically quit playing in Oct/Nov as PokemonGo quickly became "Uncool" at 9th Grade Level

However, before he quit with the Static Gym scene, him and some of his friends would go out and play. Since Pokemon Go came out in Summer they weren't all on the same team. They were also behind the level curve and all the gyms in area were Static (before prestige changes) so I found out later what they were doing was Knocking 10 to 9 powering to 10 and putting a Pokemon on bottom.

I came to find out when I was powering up a Gym from 42000 to 50000. This was when it was 1 Pokemon Prestiging. Another car pulled in and started prestiging along side me. He must have been 40+ years old. Looked early fifties.

I was like "What the heck, are you really going to try snag my spot"

He replied "I'm just looking for Crazy fast to knock out of every Gym I see him in"

I replied "Huh why"

He replied "Because he's knocking down Gyms and put a 1200 Flareon, in at least put something stronger"

I replied "We'll that must be when he goes out with his friends, they are teenagers. But I can guarantee you he doesn't have 2 accounts. Speaking of which, since you are powering up a Red Gym, and can knock people out of a Red Gym, you must have 2 which is against the Terms of Use"

He got angry and left. I finished and put a Pokemon on very top which is Probably a mistake since that gave away my trainer name too.

Flash forward and around Christmas Time a Spoofer began become active in my area. Knocking down Gyms I was in, the spoof would knock the Gyms down to Level 1, or Grey. Never putting anything in it. This has been going on and I've been sending reports when I see Gyms attacked with no one around since Dec 21.

Now yesterday I am doing a path and putting pokemon in same Gyms that the Spoofer has been working and I've been reporting and I found a level 7 CrazyFastSpoofr account.

My only conclusion is it's the same guy holding a Grudge Since Oct/Nov. Scarier still is that if my 14year old son did play, I wonder what would happen if this 40+ year old man ran into him. I almost wonder if the CrazyFastSpoofr name would run afoul of my state's strong Cyber Bullying Laws.

Any thoughts or advice.

It may or may not be the same person - as it would appear your son would have done it to a number of players...not just that one.
Even if it is, the person has done nothing at all to your son.

I am not sure how you treat 14 year olds playing a video game, but I am not sure what makes you think this person is going to make the leap from 'in game pay back' to 'bullying a minor' and/or breaking the law.

My thoughts and advice would be that you have made many assumptions and jumped to a very strong conclusion - any or all may or may not be completely wrong.

Sure, look out for, and protect your son - but this may or may not be the same person, and he has done no bullying. Apart from spoofing, the guy has done nothing worng.

You might be right and I'm overreacting.

However part of why I feel worried is the man gave off a very angry and intense vibe in encounter.

Secondly my son has basically been out of he game for two months. I know he hasn't done a gym since before Thanksgiving. So the fact that whoever it is holds a 2 month plus grudge over game seems obsessive to me

Yeah Im sure Im collateral damage and included in his target list.

Though the Grey Spoofer as I have thought of him (for leaving Gyms grey) also gets a lot of people people in those Gyms since at level 34 Im usually on or near top in my region.

I didn't put 2+2 together and think the Grey Spoofer was specifically that chance encounter until I saw the Acct they made.

Firstly, it may not even be the same person - this is just an assumption.
If it is, he may have made the account 2 months ago, and created the name then - not 2 months later as you are worried. He has probably had the name a while.

I personally take great pleasure in taking specific opponents out of gyms, but that is nothing more than rivalry. I get the feeling they do the same to me...but that is part of the fun of the game.

I actually thought I ran into one of these players 3 days ago, and asked the person standing at the gym if it was them - they said no, looked uncomfortable and walked away.
Am I looking to cause them harm...not at all - but I still asked a stranger about a specific player.
Is this any different?

I truly hope that no one is targeting your son personally, as opposed to in game - but I also applaud you being aware and conscious of possible issues.
At this stage this person has done nothing other than show some 'game rage' which we have all encountered at some point. I hope this is all it is.

All that said...innocent until proven guilty, and in this case, there is nothing even to prove them guilty of (other than breach of ToS of a game) as nothing has actually happened.

I hope it is nothing but a concerned parent.
Good Luck.

I have no idea how you think this is bullying. Some person didn't like your kid cheating so he spoofed his name for his spoof account. Kinda funny really.

when someone says they've made it Thier "mission" to find an acct holder... And also I the person asked me a complete stranger at a gym do you you know the person.

So was actively asking people and looking for him.

Have u ever asked a random stranger if you know another person?

Maybe I'm out of touch... I wouldn't ask some stranger something like if they know someone else

It was just random chance it was my kid he asked about.

It doesnt make that much difference if there is 3000cp dragonite or 1200cp flareon at the bottom of level 10 gym.
They both drop out after 1 fight.

Sure its pain in the ass for the person who is dropped out and replaced by flareon, but thats how things work right now.

The person dropping out must come back and put higher cp pokemon in, to get higher spot to avoid elimination, if he doesnt have? well bad luck then.

Come back?
Do you mean with an ALT account and backstab your own team?
I would rather go and drop the opponents gym than my own team...then let my team fill a new gym.

Shame there are too many backstabbers and not enough team players.
