Is staraptor good as a flying attacker and/or pvp? I have one at 2489 and I was thinking about using it for pvp and maybe even giving it a second move. What moveset do you recommend for it quick atack or wing atack? Is the fighting move it gets viable ?

Flying attacker: Not the worst, but suffers from a trash charge move. Go for Honchkrow for your flying DPS needs.

PvP: I doubt it's good, its stats are too attack-oriented and its charge moves are slow. Close Combat seems like a good coverage move that will punish Ice and Rock types if you're dead set on using it. Use whichever fast attack has better energy generation.

I would look elsewhere for Flying coverage.

Staraptor offers a cheap second move, but all its moves are one-bar, and in addition its stats lean to attack. PvP currently favors defense and stamina more than attack.

It has great attack stat, but moves are rather mediocre. This combination makes it just good. As flying attacker it loses with Rayquaza, easily obtainable Honchkrow and probably few others. For pvp is also just good. Both Brave Bird and Close Combat are 1-bar moves with relatively high energy cost. Not bad but also far from best. Also normal/flying typing is just good in defense and ofense. Pros of pvp Staraptor is still its attack stat, hits hard. Also Flying/Fighting combination provide great offensive coverage which hits neutral or se everything released except Zapdos and Alolan Raichu. Also cost of 2nd charge slot is attractive. As fast I suggest wing attack - it has similar stats to QA but can be effective for something.

I used a few lvl 30+ Staraptors to solo Machamp before the raid boss buff. It's a very good budget flying attacker, the best of the "generic birds" of each Gen. Nowadays though, there are much better attackers such as sky attack honchkrow, though that one may be a bit more expensive. Overall, not bad as a flying attacker.

For PvP, I don't think so. It's stat distribution makes it better for raids like may have said.
