Slowbro C/IP is also annoying. Both are really big defenders, but CP is too low for high gyms!

I argue even with the CP nerf they're great defenders around 8-10. Those guys hit like a truck.

The only problem is that they usually take the first 1~2 seats in a gym, which is very easy to get knocked out even if they could be much tougher than those sitting behind.

I'd prefer C-P or C-IB Slowbro to Poliwrath with IP.

Have them both but they're gathering dust. My bubble/ice poliwrath is one of my few 100% pokemon. I'd love to power him up, but why? He'd be close to the bottom. Really wish they'd change the whole gym ordering thing. Last time I put my C/P slowbro in a gym, he lasted maybe two hours.

Poliwrath with Bubble / Ice Punch is IMO one of the most frightening defenders, given the limitations of defense vs. attack in this game.

Slowbro with Confusion / Ice Beam (which I like much more than Psychic simply for how hard it can hit Dragonite) is nearly as powerful, though.

Both are strong defenders but with pitifully low CP after the changes. Gyms would be much more fun as a mechanic if players could not put more than one of the same mon in each.

You will certainly annoy members of your own team, if you stick them in an early stage gym with 5 or less Pokémon in, and it's going to sit on the bottom, you can pretty much guarantee that gym isn't going much higher. You can use them if you want as the 8th or more Pokémon in a gym and while they are tough, you will be little annoyed by all the bad mons you are helping protect that people have put in just to jockey for CP position.

If you made me pick one it would Slowbro, but I never use mine. I've got both and they just collect dust, sad because they were a couple of my favorites before the CP changes.

What I'm really wanting is a Slowbro with Water Pulse and Psychic to use as a prestiger against Snorlax.

I have all 3 available to make a point if my team messes around and throws in inconsiderate Pokemon. But are you referring to Water Gun/ Psychic?

I am personally a big Poliwrath fan and it's my #2 defender behind Lapras. Currently both are sitting in gyms for the third day in a row which is not common here in Vienna.(might have smth. to do with the fact that it's f****** freezing though)
