Prestiging with Ditto

Imagine a friendly gym where all defenders are 2500 CP Dragonites.

Suppose I prestige said friendly gym with 600 CP (level 30) Dittos and 1200 CP Cloysters.

The Dittos attack as 3000 CP Dragonites.

Will the gym gain 1000 prestige per Dragonite defeated (taking the 1200 CP Cloyster as my highest-CP prestiger) or 400 prestige per Dragonite defeated (taking the Ditto-turned-3000 CP Dragonite as my highest-CP prestiger)?

Actually haven't tried this, Ditto has been more of a trophy than practically useful.

I believe I saw an article that said if you use ditto for a prestiger, the amount of prestige awarded is based on ditto's CP after transformation

How can this be used with a defending ditto on lowest place in gym? Is there anything like a ditto-strategy?

If it's in a friendly gym, you can use ditto as a bubblestrat strategy for quick prestige gain. If it's an opposing gym, choose something like Chansey that has low atk and def stats and relies on hp to be good and switch to a different pokemon to fight it and it goes down quickly due to keeping ditto's base stats.

I am going to try ditto. I only attack or train while prestiging and it seems like it would be perfect.
