Pokémon with Ivs lower then 50% with powering up?

I have a Venusaur( 60% 8/12/7) Jynx (33.3% 4/8/3) Tentacruel (44.4% 11/2/7) and Ninetales (57.7% 12/1/13). Are they worth investing? They all have perfect attacking movesets. I want to use them but if low ivs make a difference then i wont use them anymore.

I suggest you use them for training but don't power them up. bigger & better mons will come your way...

The Venusaur is one thing because it's attack IV is good (even though we'll allegedly be swimming in starters next week, so....). The other guys are meh even with good IV's, so there's no way I would invest stardust in them without it. The IV thing is overrated in correlation to the base stats and the "good" movesets, but as you play, you will find and evolve better. Be patient.

Don't power them up but do try using them for training friendly gyms. Ninetales isn't bad against Exeggutor, Venusaur against Rhydon/Vaperon etc.

For me, if it's of the rarer type of mon, has a prime moveset AND a useful mon overall (Snorlax, Lapras always fall into this category) then I power 'em up. "Wait for a better one" is fine advice if you don't mind waiting for weeks and weeks for a possible better Venusaur. Something like a Vaporeon?...I would wait for a great one as Eevee's are as common as pidgeys these days. Not too hard to find a 90% with a great moveset. Easily the best bang for the buck. Second would probably be ol' eggsy.

If it has a great moveset and isn't tragic (below 40%) then power it up. A 60% Venusaur with an A-rated moveset is just fine to power up. Especially if you don't feel like throwing a crapload of great/ultra balls at a ton of bublasaurs.

IV is easily one of the most overrated attributes in the game. I'll take a 0% IV Snorlax with Lick/Body Slam over a 100% Venasaur with any move set you want if they are the same level.

Jynx is a very niche mon. She's cool and somewhat rare, but I never dust any of mine up. In fact I never use 'em. Tentacruel and Ninetales are also niche at best. Insofar that there are better mons for their uses.

Lastly, have fun. If you're serious about knocking down gyms and maybe putting dudes in there for prestige then you should really only be dealing with tier 1, possibly tier 1.5 mons at best. Everything else is just something you would use if you don't have the higher tier mons.

And for fun? If you're not serious about attacking gyms (Most of my friends are not) then just power up whatever the heck you want. There's some braggin rites about having the biggest pidgeot, Ninetales, or even Tentacruel. One guy around here throws his giant Raticates in gyms all the time. They don't hold a gym, they usually hover near or at the bottom of a gym...but you always know who it is. And that's his brand of fun.

Play on!

I like to try and Max out Pokémon that nobody sees in gyms and put them in. I rarely see a tentacruel and Venusaur. I never see ninetales. I like to put them in to change up from the same pokemon you always seeing in gyms. It gets boring seeing the same pokemon over and over yet interesting when you see new ones as said above like Raticate.
