Pinsir or Scizor for Mewtwo

Planning to power up one of the above bugs. Both with bug movements and at level 20 with similar iv. Any advice would be appreciated.

scizor because it resist's mewtwo's psychic type attacks which you will need.

I agree that if you need to pick one, it is Scizor. Pinsir is probably slightly better against Focus Blast though because it resists fighting.

I would have thought that since Scizor is Bug/Steel dual type, it (being Bug) resists fighting as well?

The best bet is that you and all people with you in battle should fight only with tyranitar this gives you high chance to defeat mewtwo boss , all other counters have low HP and defense can not resist mewtwo attacks and die quickly , and consume time for rejoine the battle . So collect more tyranitar with double dark moves via fighting tyranitar raid battle or evolving high iv larvitars .

Focus blast is one of four charge moves , it is low possibility to use it , damage output of tyranitar moves is the highest . The best second choice is gyra with double dark moveset

Dragonite and Houndoom (double dark) will outperform Gyardos in most cases.

Dragonite have no super effective moves , and Houd have low cp , i have one houd with max cp at level 33 is 2107 easly taken down by strong mewtwo attacks

I'm powering my 98% pinsir with legacy FC. I have been tempted for months but I didn't find any good excuse to do it. Now as a mewtwo counter is worth the dust. We'll need 12 pokemon for mewtwo. So I'll use both scizor and pinsir (one of each only).
