One-bar or two-bar charge move you like for offense?

When I'm using dragonite with DB/DC more and more (game AI always pick this when available), I found I start getting impatient with one bar charge move though such move is more powerful. Moreover, it seems you can charge 2 bar move more often to fire.

Nothing scientific here. Just want know your thoughts.

I always prefer one bar moves for attack. It's just easier. Also I end up using both charges at back to back with double charge moves anyway and sometimes the second one doesn't go off which is annoying.

Some say overkill is bad but I'd rather overkill than leave a sliver of health left and get hit by a body slam or something.

Depend on pokemon that you use if it has high stamina I prefer one bar else better have many bar since you have to dodge many times to preserve your pokemon hp.

Also depends on what you are fighting against.

We all know that X-Scissor (three bar) is better than Bug Buzz (two bar) for training against an Exeggutor even though Bug Buzz is stronger because X-Scissor fits perfectly in between two consecutive dodges against Confusion.

With the boost to Rhydon, I have recently discovered that Aqua Tail (two bar) similarly fits right in between two dodges against Mud Slap or Rock Smash, which makes it a little better than Hydro Pump (one bar) at least for training against Rhydon.

I feel like with one bar you will wind up fully charged and wait for the right opportunity, thus wasting charge, and occasionally the defending mon will counter as your move cools down. If you subtract both of these from the DPS in most cases the 2 bar move will be better. As GS1 stated not all moves can be broken into one or two bar as there are many variations of each. Also 2 moves per bar are superior defensive moves so powering up a 2 bar mon offers more utility.
Best thing to do is go battle some large gyms and by dodging moves you will learn the advantages and disadvantages of each move and of every mon.
