Newly buffed Deoxys Attack forme solo report: still pretty easy

I soloed a Deoxys Attack forme with the new raid boss HP buff, and it was still pretty easy. The boss moveset was PJ/DP. I went in with a no-dodge strategy for my first attempt, and I didn't need a second attempt. My "A" team consisted of:

L40 PC/SB Mewtwo
L40 B/C Tyranitar
L35 B/C Tyranitar
L35 B/C Tyranitar
L34 B/C Tyranitar
L30 B/C Tyranitar

The last T-tar fainted with about 120 seconds left, and the boss having a little less than 20% of its HP left.

My pre-set "B" team consisted of:

L37 PC/SB Mewtwo
L40 L/SB Gengar
L40 S/DP Absol
L35 S/DP Honchkrow
L40 S/FP Houndoom (not used)
L36 FA/FP Shiftry (not used)

The boss did regain some HP upon my re-entry, but not a huge amount, taking it up to a little over 20%. The Mewtwo did fine, but the Gengar was OHKO'd by a dark pulse before launching even a single charge move of its own. The Absol almost finished the boss off, with the Honchkrow needing just a couple of quick moves to end the battle with about 70 seconds remaining.

Summary: The T-tars, not surprisingly, were by far the tankiest attackers, and they did most of the damage. The Mewtwos were good too, but much glassier; one DP was almost, but not quite, enough to KO them. I would imagine a lower level Mewtwo (say, L30) would be at risk of being OHKO'd by dark pulse. The Gengar was extremely fragile and not really necessary; if you have other decent options (e.g. Honchkrow, Absol, Houndoom, etc. with dark moves) I don't see any need to risk using Gengars. The boss does gain some HP upon having to re-enter the battle with a second team, but the amount isn't that big of a deal if you are well ahead of the clock when the first team faints out. The fact that I won with 70 seconds left indicates that a slightly weaker team could still get the job done.

70 seconds remaining means that there is enough time to revive the A-team. Even players without a decent B-team can do this solo.

Your experience shows that this isn’t needed but I think the A team should have pidgey or some other equally weak Pokémon in the 6th slot. Perhaps I’m wrong but I thought Boss HP gain for relobby is the amount of damage done by last attacker right? So, put in something that does almost no damage...and gets you to the relobby faster.

Relobbied twice with max reviving against deoxys pre-buff with a relatively weak unique 6 team against foul play and still won. Not sure I could do that again post-buff though.

I'm curious on your source for the boss HP gain being the damage done by the last attacker. By my rough calculation, the last T-tar took 12-14% of the boss's total HP, and I don't think the regain was that much.

I can’t put my fingers on the source and as I indicated, I may be wrong about that.

Seems like it would be easy enough to test. Pick any random level 3+ raid, enter lobby with only 1 Pokémon that will do some damage and also faint. Re-enter and see how much it regains. Try a couple different Pokémon. See if it’s all the damage, half, random. It may be that the last 5s (or 7.2 or ...) of damage is healed due to server connection lag issues. Fainting right after big charge move would hurt worse than fainting after only several fast moves. Lots of study opportunities if one were so motivated.

I also soloed one yesterday. I was left with about 30 seconds. Revived my A-team. You don't need all lv 38 Tyraniatars to do it. I did it with two, plus a SB Mewtwo, Two maxed dragonites, and a Houndoom.
Caught two yesterday due to friend's pass~
