GamePress

So I've just updated the app on my iPhone 5S and now the name of the moves simply disappeared (the damage has been missing for months) ...
I wonder if that happened only to mine phone ( that btw I'm considering to change to a better one )

It takes a lot of creativity to keep coming up with new ways to screw things up.

Ugh. Same on my iPhone SE. I figured the previously missing damage numbers were due to the smaller screen, but with the update, this is really bad.

Hey Niantic, I'd really like to be able to tell which Cloyster has avalanche, and which has aurora beam.

I think you should still be able to check that with Charge TMs, as they announce which move is about to be forgotten (or which you want to be forgotten if the Pokemon has two charge moves).

Well, yeah, there are a number of ways I can figure it out, but the point is that it's very inconvenient, and a pretty major visual glitch.

Same here on iPhone SE, iPhone 5S, and iPod Touch (which have the same screen size and resolution).

I play on an iPhone SE and have been having the same issue. Interestingly, what I have noticed is that if I'm in a call with my wife/using the gps/doing anything that puts a banner on the top ~5% of my phone screen, everything shows back up and works as you would expect.
This is to say, this is definitely a display resolution issue on Niantic's end, and it seems that iPhone 5(s/E)/iTouch screens are the only devices which have this specific display configuration. I doubt that niantic are going to patch this, as the only hardware which seems to have this issue is old and probably in need of an upgrade in 1-2 years anyway, and thus not worthy of their attention.
