I would like clarification of "recently participated". A week, month, what?

They're just trying to get us to spend as many raid passes as possible. Same thing they did when they said, "only trainers with many raids/battles won" would be able to do legendary raids-- then there was no actual criteria.

On the announcement page:

"To receive an invitation to participate in an Exclusive Raid Battle, Trainers must have successfully completed a raid recently, by defeating the Raid Boss, at the Gym where the Exclusive Raid Battle will be taking place."

According to a Japanse website recent Beans the last weeks. Probably just every gym you have ever participated in.

I.e. forcing players to buy and use raid passes on magikarps

I like the fact that the birds are staying for another 2 weeks since I was one vacation during articuno week. The exclusive pass is also a good idea but the criteria is all about money. I would have preferred if the criteria was having a silver badge at that gym and some kind of trainer level restriction, above 30 or something.

Would say gold badge there and get an invite...but likely means you have raided there many times already--so maybe silver badges get invites

The only problem I see is if there are enough trainers who did a raid at that gym recently and also got the invite...

This maybe hard to coordinate if there is a Mewtwo at your local gym, but no high level people recently raided there...From the wording, it sounds like you'll get a heads up well in advance though so I don't think it'll be as bad as people are hating right now on many forums.

That said, as much as hate is out there, I think this game is generally easy mode so I'd guess the recently is a very long recently...I don't think we should worry too much.

Anything hard has been made easier like originally, it was 1 hour for 1 coin (I think it was 1 hour before) was changed to 10 minutes...etc...Mewtwo nerfed, gyms easy and everyone demotivates, everyone getting coins, prestige gone, 1 mon limit, etc...

Or, if 22 people get invites and 19 of them are on the same team that's not yours. Have they said if these will be limited to 20?

Worst will be 19 of them are finished already and you are stuck with the 3 other players impossible to win the raid now...

Hmm, now I'd not only need to go to a more heavily raided area in order to raid successfully, but I'd need to go to a more heavily raided area one day, waiting around for as many gyms as possible to have raids, raid all of them, and then go back again some other day to raid Mewtwo, assuming I can even go at the time it shows up at one of those specific gyms?

So... nope.

This is the negative side of what it all sounds like. Some people in this thread have mentioned you should need a silver or gold badge at the gym to get invited? People who travel a bit to higher populated areas don't have the luxury of having badges or recently raided gyms. I don't think it'll be as bad as it sounds but the scenario you mention is exactly what a lot of people are thinking I'm sure!

I am not sure how the scheduled raids will work out for many. I travel quite a bit so may be out of town. I also have two separate areas where I play that are about 45 minutes apart. I don't like the idea of rearranging my scechdule to participate. My job and family make that hard to do. I can't just drop everything and do a raid. Instead I wait until it is convenient. I also have a son with his own account, who plays less than I do. I'd like to do the raid with him but don't know if we will get the same invite.

Hopefully it works out, but this sounds like too much of a pain in the ass. The game shouldn't seem like a chore, but it is starting to feel like that. Why not just use the current system?

Other site translation states the "past few weeks" so maybe it's not that bad...If it's even 2 weeks, that's 14 raids for a free to play player to get a shot at a Mewtwo pass...

I think its just yet another element that has to line up perfectly if im ever going to actually raid..and beat, a Mewtwo.

And yet another element that is going to make it harder to find a raid at the right time, in the right place, with enough people. And overall just reduce my chances of actually being able to beat it.

This is coming from someone who has not caught a single Legendary...has not beaten a single Tier 4 Raid...So i know what my chances are going to be like..and all this does it make it worse I fear.

There are not enough people..there never is. And as these raids get harder (extremely harder) the sheer amount of people needed is actually getting to the unrealistic point I think..I mean, 4 or 5 people ? ok. But going on for 20 ? just not happening.

And with a 2 hour window of the raid being available atm, the chance of like...10+ of us all randomly arriving there at the same time...not 2 mins apart so we arrive after they have already entered etc...but just at the right time. Seems more impossible the more I think about it.

Quickly gets to the point where you dont even bother spending the pass because you know its a waste...I know it will just be me in the lobby alone. Maybe that is partly why there is just never anyone in the lobbies.

and now ontop of that...i need to have beaten the specific raid where the Mewtwo MIGHT show up (who knows how recently) and I need to be invited to the raid...then i have to hope there are another godknows how many (I mean, Mewtwo is gonna require allotttt of help I imagine) people in the area who also have beaten a raid at this specific gym and get invited.

I dunno man, its just..unless you live somewhere super popular with a massive Pogo playerbase...

there just seems soooo many random factors involved in actually getting to take part, and beat, a raid battle. So many little things that actually reduce your chances. And this is now just another factor that is no doubt gonna make it less likely for me to actually get a Mewtwo.
