Mean-Variance Analysis on Team Composition against Mewtwo

Intro:
For each team of six, I sum up the individual performance score ("Overall" from Pokebattler) as the team score against a specific Mewtwo;
And then there will be eight scores (corresponding to eight different Mewtwo) for each team. Next I calculate the mean and STDEV out of the eight scores for each team;
Finally, I put the (STDEV, mean) pair of each team in a chart. The X axis is STDEV and the Y axis is the mean.

How to use the chart:
Given the same STDEV you would like a higher mean (higher risk higher return), so the points on the top are considered optimal.

Conclusion:
1. Use T Tar and Dragonite only and include at least two T Tar in your squad.
2. The more T Tar you include, the higher the expected performance your squad but also the higher the risk. Also more stardust to burn.

Edit: I completely forget about Mewtwo. Shadow Ball Mewtwo outclasses Dragonite or any other Pokémon that is not T Tar.
Optimal team should be T Tar + Mewtwo.

That's exactly what I was planning on using. 5 TTs then heal before fainting/re-enter. Maybe throw my Scizor in too 1st, or 1 Dnite. We can have a bloodbath, I'm good with that.

I always have way more counters than the crowds I raid with, but it is going to go quick here:
My Tyranitars: TT 30; TT 30; TT 30; TT26; TT 25; TT 20; TT20
Trying to get my top 5 TT to level 30--then for 6th:
5 Houndooms level 29 to 30
4 Dragonite 35; 30; 30; 27
Bug Scizor level 28
or the level 20 TTs
***Glancing at Pokebattler with novice eyes, if it is Focus Blast I might run 3 Dragonite DT/O and 3 TT B/C. Shadowball...All TT, no matter the level

On conclusion 2, why burn more stardust? Or did you mean burn more revives/potions?

Because powering up T Tar from L20 to L30 requires a lot of dust. But you can safely state that everyone has multiple high level Dragonites.

Only L27.5 for TT is needed for Bite now with Mewtwo's base def nerfed to 182. FWIW

Guessing because nobody catches a larvitar above level 20 and evolves it. Very few organically have 6 Tyranitars--I have 2 natural ones, 5 raided ones. I, however, already have 4 natural Dragonites, Scizors, Houndooms, etc, etc, etc

Maximizing a team against Mewtwo seems like a waste of stardust. Like with the birds it seems probable that there will be a lot of people a the raids and Mewtwo will go down with 200 secs left while using your 3rd or 4th mon.

Color matching raids is more important imo. Spending dust to get 6 lvl 30 Ttars isn't effective usage just to get 1 or 2 extra balls for damage.

Right now the only situation where you should carefully build a team of six is when soloing, the only interesting part of the meta right now.

It does make a huge difference when the group size is 9-12 and the number of players from three teams are roughly the same.

These other birds and Tyranitar you could reasonably raid them 15 to 20 times...duh, gonna get 1, 5, or 10 of them. The way they are talking lucky to battle 3 Mewtwos. What else is there to invest in better than a Tyranitar right now? Dragonite #5? I really can't think of anything.

Do you seriously think that it's in Niantics interest to keep people away from Mewtwo? They have a couple of weeks now before the 10-15 years old players will lose interest again. They're going to maximize revenues during that period so we're going to "drown" in Mewtwos, be sure of that.

Agreed. I am absolutely not building niche attacking forces. Stardust is far too valuable, and I won't need a languishing Tyranitar army to take down demotivated gyms after these raids end. Besides, I already have powered Dragonite and Scizor I want to use.

Since you probably need to rejoin the Battle, i suggestivo to not use any of the suggested Pokémon (even the best ones) so when you rejoin you already know what team gets autoselected or maybe use the and max revive only them
