Maxed vaporeons at different level

Hi
I just realized something weird. I am lvl35 and i have 2 maxed vapes
Cp 2985 next level costs 8000 dust 10 candies (iv 98)
Cp 2970 next lvl costs 9000 dust 12 candies (iv 82-87)
I cannot keep powering up none cause my trainer level is too low
I am asuming that they reached different levels, but my question is why?

Happened once with my wife's snorlax, became half level higher than it should.
Have you checked lvl with iv calculator?

A while ago it was possible to power up slightly beyond what you should be able to if you did some particular gesture; I forget the details. As I understand it, that bug has been fixed. It looks like the higher cost one is probably half a level higher.

If you press the 'power up' button, and then it lags out, and you keep pressing the button, the game can remember both presses and then when the lag spike clears it can give both 'power up' at the same time.

It can do it with many things, including buying things from the shop too. If you press to purchase, and then get frustrated and spam the button, you can end up buying a whole load of a specific item by mistake, all due to lag spikes.

Basically, they didn't fix the extra 'power up' issue from the double finger press...they just removed the ability to use the double finger press consistently. Their lazy programming still has the same issue - they just took away the consistent way to do it.
Your extra power up is bad programming meeeting a lag spike at the wrong (or maybe the right) time.

In short, lag got you an extra level when you continued to press the 'power up' button during a lag spike.

i wont say how because i consider it an exploit of lazy programming (although i am sure a lot of people already know or if they want to will just google it) but you don't even need a lag spike and people can and do trigger it deliberately.

Yes...I didn't want to mention it either.
The person asking the question clearly did it unintentionally and so I just responded to it that way, and gave a way that it can happen even if you don't mean it to.

...but you are right, the lazy programming has left a hole that can easily be exploited if a player wants to, in more ways than one.
