The major problem i see

Listen everyone can have their opinion on the update i understand that. BUT the number one thing that needs to be taken care of as soon as possible is the number of people joining the lobby prior to fighting a raid boss. BY FAR the most agreed thing that needs to be solved ASAP. I am hesitant on spending my raid pass on a level 4 raid for this reason. IMO this update will work itself out, but this needs to be handled THIS WEEK. That is insane to me no one thought about that.

Can't you just look around and count? I actually will ask to see who is going to do the raid.

Most people sit in their Cars around here, plus spoofers pop up randomly.

looking around and counting does not work in major cities especially when trainers are in buildings and underground. I did 4 level 4 raids at Grand Central Terminal yesterday and although lots of people were there most of them were just minding their own business or looking like they were to busy to "talk" about game they probably never heard of.

It's a different world here in Vermont. We share locations of raids on a Whatsapp group thread, so we know who's going to show up. Then we set up a private group, so no spoofers join.

Pretty same here on the other side of the globe, Hong Kong. We did pretty much the same, and apart from office hour, there would be 10-20, or even 30 players gathering under the raid level 4 gym, setting up private groups based on team to get as much premier balls as possible.

I think if they brought back the "Gym under attack" animation and used it for gyms and raids people have joined that could help. But I'm with you and very hesitant to use my pass on higher level raids unless I know people are there. Been keeping it simple and soloing lvl 2 raids.

What if they dropped the spawn rate of raids but made a spawn module you can find or purchase like lures to use on gyms? This could help let people know there are others raiding since someone has to spawn it.

Some sort of in-game chat could fix that problem and getting people to show-up for the raid in the first place. I understand Niantic has a built-in chat program for Ingress.
