Lugia as tank counter to Mewtwo?

Lugia resists psychic attacks and double resists fighting attacks (Focus Blast). With Dragon Tail / Sky Attack neither is super-effective against Mewtwo but neither is resisted. Should be a good tank counter, don't you think?

I would first look closer at the mechanics of how the exclusive raid passes will actually work before investing in a Lugia. Great to be prepared for a hypothetical matchup, but it might be "get an invite, automatically be in a fairly quick winning raid battle"

A snorlax with Lick/HB will be better.

Lick is super-effective, true. But Snorlax doesn't resist any of Mewtwo's attacks and will be wasted by Focus Blast. Lugia actually has a slightly higher attack rating than Snorlax (193 vs 190).

I think both Lugia and Snorlax should be listed as tank counters to Mewtwo.

Not against Focus Blast it wont.

Your looking at a Focus Blast doing somewhere in the neighborhood of 140 damage to a Blissey/Snorlex and doing 40 Damage to a Lugia.

True, but FB is very easy to dodge and snorlax double resist shadow ball, while lugia will be wasted by it, so if I don't know mewtwo moves I would prefer snorlax.

It should be pretty easy to tell when mewtwo has focus blast because there will be no ttars in the auto selection.

Pretty easy to dodge is not a thing lol. I get the Dodge glitch about 80% of the time on every charged attack.

People say this as if it will not absolutely destroy your Ttar as well. If Mewtwo has Focus Blast Gengar/Lugia seem to be favorites, maybe even Scizor on top of both.
