Lapras IV question

So I have this Lapras I hatched way back when. When I checked its IVs at the time it said it ranged between 78-82%. When I appraise it says "you're Lapras is really strong" yet now when I check its IVs it states that it is 82.2% shouldnt it technically say "you're Lapras can really battle with the best of em" if she's truly 82.2% and why is it now able to give me a definite percentage whereas before it was a range for its IVs?

Nevermind I realized I was super tired when I rechecked it and had entered something wrong! Haha

This means your Lapras has either 78 or 80% IV. Give us your mon's details so that we can check it out

If it was long enough ago, it might have been before the appraisal system, which helps narrow down options. It sounds like you input the wrong appraisal category though.
