Just finished my first solo level 3 raid
For those who are also attempting to do this, it's definitely possible, though as you can see from my screenshot I was very close to timing out. I thought it might be helpful to provide some info about the experience.
This boss was a Gengar with Hex/Sludge Bomb and took two tries. The first time I had some network issues that reset his health bar, but the second I finished right as the timer ran down (see screenshot). I used the following in the following order:
2553 Gengar SC/Sludge Bomb
2888 Espeon C/FS
2403 Alakazam C/P
2425 Espeon C/P
2340 Alakazam PC/FS
2785 Rhydon MS/E
The Rhydon was slow, but the NVE from Sludge Bomb was incredibly helpful. I tried the first time with Tyranitar 3132 B/SE but got the feeling that he was too slow - you definitely need to use glass cannons and DO NOT DODGE.
Hope this helped some folks who are trying to solo level 3s. I'm level 37.

Before raid bosses I used SC/Sludge on anything that didn't resist it. I even used it against Blissey as STAB + Gengar's attack stat balanced out the NVE. Now I wouldn't use Ghost against Normal due to the immunity and the fact that Fighting is better, but Gengar will still tear down any neutral target insanely quickly. He'll cut through Dragonite, Lapras, etc faster than a lot of the type counters if powered up. However with dust at such a premium these days I'm not sure if I'd recommend powering one from 20 to 30. I think Shadow Claw/Shadow Ball is probably better than Sludge Bomb in the current meta so I would probably take your level 25 one to L30.
