interesting observation about hatching eggs
Today I made a rather interesting observation about hatching eggs. I bought 2 of the small gift packages in the shop, for the incubators. To clean my inventory from all the 5km eggs, I hatched away. Then I went to a known exegcute spot here in berlin, and to farm exegcutes.
Since I put 5 eggs into the incubators at the same time, they all hatched at the same time. Quite directly next to the exegcute nest. Naturally, the next eggs I found came from the Pokestops around the nest.
Since I found mostly 5km eggs, I did another big round of hatching.
And then, tonight, two more Exegcutes hatched.
This might be completely random. Still, today I hatched 11 eggs, I think and got 2 times a mon i was not able to get even once in all the 80 eggs i hatched before (first time buying any incubators).
And while once might constitute happenstance, to quote Ian Fleming, and twice is coincidence, three times is enemy action.
So is there a third time? Not nearly as clear, but here we go:
I had a 10 km egg I set aside for an incubator. I hatched it today. It was a kabuto, the monster of the fortnight before the current pest of paras'. I remember hatching already one kabuto while it was ubiquitous. And I hatched a paras 2 days ago, which is ubiquitous right now.
On top of that, I hatched 3 water mon tonight (stardiu, seel, tentacool) which would also fit with my farming place today (a park right next to a body of water).
Obviously, these examples are not as striking as the 2 very rare exegcutes. And with some of the examples, my memory might trick me, and i cannot be truly sure when i picked up which egg (except for today, I ran out of eggs while hatching and can thus definetly confirm that the exegcutes-eggs where found today.
In case I did not made my point clear: It seems very likely to me, that your eggs are connected with the place you found them at, and are more likely to hatch a mon that could be caught at that place.

The pokestop you draw your egg from definitely effects the egg type you get as is evident from this study done by 26 SilphRoad researchers. I'm pretty sure different stops do have different distributions for each type of egg as well.

I've had the same - two Pinsirs from 10k eggs collected near a Pinsir nest, Onix all from eggs collected along the city walls, Kabuto from a short lived Kabuto spawn spot.
Collection point definitely seems to have a strong influence, although there is still some kind of randomisation going on.
It annoyingly explains why I hatch so many Spearows and Meowths but very few fire type.
