Hurricane on dragonite
How does hurricane compare to outrage? They both benefit from stab, but the damage seems a little underwhelming considering that it is a 100 energy move. Heck, even hyperbeam deals more damage without stab.
Any thoughts? Any common matchup where hurricane is the superior charge move?
PS: I'm only interested in offense. I usually only dodge charge moves.

Over time, Hyper Beam does less damage than both Outrage and Hurricane.
Damage number can be misleading, you also have to take into account the cool down and DPS.
Outrage is a two bar move with 110 damage each. Each bar has a cooldown of 3.9s.
Hurricane is a one bar with 110 damage but its cooldown is only 2.7 seconds.
Hyper Beam is inferior to both as it misses out on stab.
If you dodge, Hurricane is better.
If you spam with minimal dodging, I would say Outrage is better.
Test them all out.
It's pretty solid but far behind Outrage in my opinion. It's way better than HB, it does close to the same damage after STAB and is so much quicker. You'll like how fast it is because you'll rarely get hit by a charge move while using it.
Note my opinion might be slightly tainted because I have DT on my Outrage, and SW on my Hurricane. The SW/H is 100 IV and I hatched it too :( so it's REALLY hard to like battling with it.
