Has anyone actually used Gengar/Alakazam on attack since the update?
Are they as good as the stats imply?

Used my Alakazam (psycho cut/psychic, CP 2333) against CP2900 Snorlax (Zen/Hyper). Definitely have to dodge but in this match up at least, hyper is so easy to dodge so it worked really well. Psycho cut is an easy fast move to use, with two hits between dodges. The animations are fun too - it's even cooler to train against.
When you dodge, Alakazam is a good option to kill those PKM which don't have a strong type-counter, as Lapras- and Snorlax, fast. Dodging is absolute possible because Psycho Cut is very fast.
Of course, Snorlax can be killed with Snorlax, Vaporeon or Gyarados too, but this takes longer. When there are multiple Snorlaxes or Lapras to be killed multiple times, time is an issue.
If you have a good Dragonite, he kill Snorlax about as fast, but not Lapras.
I consider Alakazam a good all-purpose-attacker when dodging.
id say alakazam is a better all around attacker than even dragonite. its only weak to a couple types ...unlikely to see in a gym. everything else it absolutely demolishes. psycho cut is a must have though. the low hp means youll have to dodge but if you dodge well and power up your alakazam itll no doubt be your go to attacker. happy the game finally realized how good alakazam should be
