Since I'm supposed to adapt, and make the best of what Niantic has upgraded us to, I guess I will think of silly gym themes. FUN ?

Smoochum -> Togepi

Togepi was in the original lineup, but i wanted "babies" from Gen 1.

This gym can probably be taken down by only one Pokémon due to type advantages. The Pokémon is: Steelix with Iron Tail and Earthquake! Dragon Tail may work, too.

It is impossible to test it, no one would put these six Pokémon in a row in a gym.

And on paper:
Well, the placement of the Pokémon is quite good.

When you full charge the Earthquake, don't release it immediately, use only Iron/Dragon Tail to kill Pichu.

Release Earthquake, and with some Iron/Dragon Tails, Cleffa faints.

Full charge Earthquake against then release it, Igglybuff faints.

Use only Iron/Dragon Tails to kill the Smoochum, no Earthqaukes are necessary here.

Release Earthquake, Elekid faints easily.

The problem is Magby, you have to dodge Fire Punches or you may faint due to Steelix's STA stat and the type effectiveness. This would be tough, Iron Tails can't necessarily kill the Magby before Steelix faints if you don't dodge, and Earthqauke has a way too long for the yellow flash animation to appear.

You WANT people to take down your gym. I have ladybugs and caterpie in gyms right now.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree. My CP 61 Paras has been defending a gym for more than 16 hours now and hasn't lost any motivation. So clearly someone is feeding him. On the good side, 3 of my mons returned today so if my paras holds until tomorrow it will be great.

Jesus!!! This is all the proof anyone needs that this is a shitty system. A 3000cp Snorlax nets 0 coins for days. A 61cp paras could get 50, if it ever gets taken out... a paras gets 50 coins.... a paras is in a gym for 16+ hours.

that's nothing. I have a 37 point Caterpie that just got me a 100-hour gym defender badge. gyms are a game of chicken. nobody wants to take them over. just put in garbage and hope an alt account cheater or a new player comes along to take the gym.

Maybe this is how motivation works. I told my Paras that if she holds the gym until tomorrow I will not send her back to the professor. So she is clearly very motivated....

That is what we want. I'm sure trainers will pass it by, "cute." But there will be a trainer that will kick them all out, coins they will bring... i just hope we aren't breaking any child labor laws
