Good job Niantic

They've learned from the Feebas research day mistakes. Clamperl were way much accesible to get. I just made this Q&A to show how thankful I am. I've got a lot of dust and the spawns were incredible (I even find a wild Blastoise). I had terrible luck with shinies until this event came out. I had an amazing time with this event. How was yours?

one shiny, thankfully a very high IV gorebyss (the closest ill ever get to shiny milotic), no others in the wild

Wild blastoise, 5 golduck, and half a dozen other second stage water types were great for stardust, additional kipper and totadile candy very welcomed.

Niantic certainly seems to be learning from some of their royal f---ups in the past.

When I first saw the title I thought this was going to be one of those sarcastic posts where someone complains about something to no end. This even was pretty nice though, only had to play for an hour to get a shiny of both Huntail and Gorebyss, and even got a perfect!

I agree. I did 51 tasks and got 4 shinies. Evolved 3 of them to get 2 Gorebyss and 1 Huntail. No complaints at all.

I didn't encounter any wild shines, but I did take a break during the event for a Latias raid that I happened upon and got a shiny. So all in all, it was a good day.

I loved the event based purely on the great variety of spawns on the map. It was just great to see 2nd and 3rd stage water types appearing on the map and I had more fun with than even a regular CD and most importantly I finally found a shiny Psyduck

I still don't like the concept of basing an event around hitting unique Pokestops for many obvious reasons, but everything else about the event was very well done.

Can’t even think one obvious reason much less many... I understand you think the game should revolve around YOU and your playing style and the millions of other players be damed... I’m truly sorry Niantic didn’t cater this event to rural players

If that's what you took from my post then no, you don't understand what I think. I'm truly sorry that you felt the need to apologize on Niantic's behalf.

Really? Coming from someone who complains that all raids aren’t able to be done solo, wants to be able to tigger a raid at will and select the raid boss and thinks community day should a be button you can press so you can do it when you want.... Yhea I do think you expect the Niantic to cater the game exclusively for you and your needs

I know you are simply attempting to troll, but in case anyone reads it...

Not everyone has access to a large number of pokestops in a close area, so I guess this is the obvious reason the poster was talking about.

Pretty valid point... But you don’t hear a 4ft 3in horse jockey constantly demanding that the rules of Basketball should be changed so he can successfully complete.... Same way way you don’t hear a 6ft 7in Basketball player constantly complaining he that they can’t complete in horse racing so all the other jockeys now have to carry an extra 200 pounds... Rural players live in an area where they game is difficult to play I get that .... But they decided to play.... They decided to continue playing after learning this fact.... That’s not anyone’s problem but the rural players ... The constant complaining and demands that game caters to them is pathetic ..: Let’s be super honest here while we are at it... 99% of the players calling themselves “rural” are people who live in suburbs of major cities with active a Pokémon Go community in town ... They are just pissed off that they have to waddle down the drive way get in the car and drive 15 minuets into town to play

800 meters from my home there is an "office park" that has a dentist, orthodontist, vet, and other random small businesses. It looks like a cul-de-sac with 10 or 12 houses. It has 5 pokestops, you can park and spin/lure 3. Pace 20 steps to get the other two. Swinub event we got a half dozen cars there...this one, people just solved the 5 tasks and went to a real park.

Granted this "office park" borders a greenway/sidewalk (far from a real park), but beyond that, they built the 4 additional pokestops around "lawn art".

Main point: Pokestops can be built.

I hatched a 15a/15/14 Riolu (10k eggs are appearing more frequently IMO). For a while I could expect 9 5ks, the past week I’ve generally had 2 10ks going per 9 eggs. (I only premium incubate 10k)

I enjoyed this event significantly more than the Feebas event. Shiny rates were much better this time around, the tasks were more varied and much more reasonable, the 2x stardust bonus was a nice addition, and it was cool seeing such a wide variety of water Mons spawning. I'm glad Niantic listened to the feedback from the Feebas event, because this one was a huge improvement.

A massive improvement on the Feebas day. Tasks were easily achievable but varied enough. Spawns were a good level and most in our group got 2-4 shinies. I'm not sure combining it with Latias re-release was a great idea (a little too much to focus on) but that's a minor quibble.

I went 0/51 and then got a shiny on my second to last quest 😰

I played pretty hard for about an hour and a half, and got two shiny Clamperls (plus about 200 Clamperl candies), a shiny Krabby and a shiny Wailmer (both of which were new for me), about 60K stardust, and a few decent spawns, which were mainly good for the extra stardust (e.g. Sharpedos, Masquerains, Pelippers).

a lot of shinies indeed. The spawns were CRAZY ; multiple Laprasses, multiple Floatzels and many max evolved other pokemons! :)

There was a bug with one research task that, when claimed, may make the player unable to log in. Other than that, great event.
