Golem RockThrow/Earthquake good defender? Power up mine?

In tier list says that a Golem with Rock Throw and Earthquacke is as good as one with Mud Slap and Stone Edge... Why? I cant figured it out...

I got one Golem 93% IV with that moveset, he is lvl 20... what do you think? he deserve the dust?

I look into this and figured out that is a difference of only 3% between the mentioned movesets... plus the one with RT/E has a lower typing coefficient (an indicator of how difficult is to counter this defender)

No...Golem is not a good defender because of the blue eevee evolution with the long tail

Jajaja well... nowadays theres is no good defender... pokemon stays in gyms for seconds... but... I have my good powered defender snorlax, lapras, slowbro, exeggutor, vaporeon, even hypno...
Just want to spend some dust in another defender bellow them... but still good defender.. like 7-8/10 stars

For example, another option is my 86% Muk with poison jab and dark pulse

I'd better spend them on Muk because is more rare and exotic and because it have a good moveset for defense

I'd use him as an attacker rather than as a defender.

It is already written, that Golem cannot be a good defender due to his weekness to water and the good availability of water pokemon.
The problem is even worse: It is not just a weekness to water, it is a double-weekness; Golem as a defender will be crushed by any water-PKM, even more than Gyarados with lightning or Dragoran with Lapras.
IMO, any PKM with a double-weekness to any element cannot be a top-tier-defender. They may be placed high in Gym because of good WPs, but they cant defend it equally.

I didn't read all the replys so sorry if someone said this, but I think he is a good defender to put in a gym bc he has decent CP and easy to prestige against. I have a couple gyms that typically stay red, but once a week or so they get flipped and I'll put my 2200cp RT/EQ or my 2900 MS/EQ Rhydon so my team has an easier time getting it back to 10.
