On the fence with Zapdos

I don't know if I should power my 98% IV Zapdos to level 30 or if I should wait until he is no longer available in case I catch a 100%. I was going to power him up tonight but with the legendary birds lasting another 2 weeks I have come to a crossroads. Do you think it's worth just saying screw it and powering him to level 30? Or should I level something more useful, such as a double bug Scizor.

The difference between 98% and 100% is borderline zero. It may even be literally zero; I mean there's a chance it doesn't EVER make a difference in your whole gameplay time from now till you drop the game. It's more about collector value imo, in which case it doesn't matter if you catch a perfect one in 2 weeks and never power it up. It's still extremely rare.

That said, it's the best electric pokemon available so you want to power it up. If you have decent electric attackers (powered up Jolteon or Ampharos) and can't spare the resources right now you could focus on Scizor (to prepare for Mewtwo) and delay powering up Zapdos.

Yeah I think it's just a mental thing. If I powered it and then caught a 100% I would be kicking myself. I think it's only a 10 cp difference since it has 15 attack. I will probably just power the 98% and then work on a Scizor.

Exactly. But even if you do catch it, no need to be hard on yourself. The non-powered up perfect Zapdos will still be extremely valuable. I mean, supposing you catch one and really want to power it up too (even though it's pointless) you can always slowly farm the dust and candies while others might search forever and fail to find a perfect Zapdos.
Just focus on the positive stuff :)

No raids for me today, I did just one yesterday at 6pm b/c it was a Tyrantitar and the gym was too close not to. Really doubt you would find a 100 unless you were targeting that bird and doing at least 3-4 a day. I'm kinda back to regular playing until I get more Mewtwo info or they change tier 3 and 4 bosses

I also caught a IV 98 one on the second day. Now I power it up to level 39 already.

Tell me how many legendaries you have are IV 98% and 100%? Why do you think you would get 100% one? Even getting 98% is lucky enough. Don't be greedy.

I have a 100% Articuno and 98% Moltres. It's far from impossible to get a 100% Zapdos in 2 1/2 more weeks from raids, especially doing 2-3 raids per day. It's also hardly being greedy wanting to use the most important reagent in the game as efficiently as possible.

I do an avg of 6-8 Raids per day and still have not captured any of the 4 existing Lengendaries birds above 96% and only 1 Moltres at 96%. Articuno 93%, Zapados 93% and Lugia 93%
