Dragonites - Power them up or get another one?

So I have four Dragonites:
DB/DC 2/15/14 Lvl 33.5 CP 3,132
SW/DC 15/15/12 Lvl 30.5 CP 3,074
SW/DC 14/15/13 Lvl 30.5 CP 3,072
SW/HB 9/15/2 Lvl 31 CP 2,979
and 144 Dratini candy but no good Dratini to evolve. Any opinions, should I power them up or wait till I find a good Dratini to get another Dragonite?

Sound like a spoofer either way you only have one good attacking dragonite

Lol, sure as hell, he is not a spoofer. I know people, I use to walk around with, that have 10+ Dragonites. They just have several Dratini soawns close to their flat. You should not accuse someone for being better or more lucky/spending more time than you.

I'm not a spoofer, I just happen to live by a major river (The Rhine in Germany) and spend a lot of time there, often find 2 -3 Dratinis a day. I'm aware that only one of them is a good attacker, SW sucks when attacking and I use them only as gym hogs

The Thames in London is similar - I saw a Level 10 gym on the Thames full of Dragonites.

Personally, I would wait. Dragon Claw on D is not really intimidating for attackers, while your DB one is already strong enough to tear through 3,4 Defenders all by itself. The SW ones are at such high CP anyway, that there is practically no reason to put dust/candy on them, since they are already sitting in the top 3 at least in pretty much every gym. Ok, it depends a little on your area of course. But still, I would wait for a Dragonite with DB/DP or DC as another strong attacker, that would enable you to take down a higher lvl Gym with just two mons.

For me personally, SW/DC is the most annoying moveset on defence because DC is the fastest charge move which doesn't give me time to use my own charge move without taking full damage from SW, so even though it does less DPS, the Dragonite still ends up doing a comparable amount of total damage compared to other movesets because if you use a charge move to do more DPS, a full damage SW makes up for the damage that DC lacks compared to DP or HB.

Plus Dragonite seems to use SW sooner after a DC than after another SW.

I would wait for another good dratini.

Your defensive dragonites are already strong enough and your DB/DC is already lvl 33. I would try to get another atk dragonite.

Catch a 80%+ dratini, evolve it and pray to come with Dragonbreath :)

I'd say, get your Lvl 31 one over 3000 CP for good measure. And then wait for a good IV Dratini. For now, having a 3,000 CP defender gets you to the back of the gym and your attacking Dragonite is strong enough to do very well.

Why dust any of them? Leave as is. Quest for a high IV SW/DP or another DB/DC. That's what I would do. My two cents.

Dinonikusu,

Although this shall require walking many kilomertres, I suggest using your chosen attack Dragonite (I would advise DB/DC) as your walking buddy. You will then be able to add to your current candy stockpile, allowing you to power up both Dragonites if needed (and especially if the Dratinis move elsewhere).

Regards,
