6 months of playing. I walked a dratini 135 candy during the double candy event.

SW/DC
and the other is SW/HB

I gave up. In the last 6 weeks I've seen and caught exactly zero drating (but 5 Snrolax). Which is okay. IMO Snorlax is better save for a lower overall CP.

I wouldn't power up yours with that moveset. Especially with candy so rare.

FWIW I've hatched 1002 eggs as of this date. only 3 were dratini. My very first 10k was a dratini. Didn;t realize what I had there. The last two came within the last month. So I probably hatched about 950 eggs in a row without a dratini.

For me, one of the rarest mons out there. I have 11 Snorlax and missed a few. Two good Muks, 3 Hotmomlees, 6 Hitmonchans, ...just a lot of eveything else. But only 2 Dragonites and I got them the hard way. Just like you.

Geez, they're everywhere by me...along with Tangela/Bellsprout. I can't go 1 block without tripping over one or having one pop up on nearby.

Meanwhile, I see like maybe 1 Eevee a day, and love trips to the suburbs where I can catch Eevees until my fingers get raw

Yeah, Dratini is a very rare hatch. Likely #3 behind Lapras and Snorlax.

I've had better luck than you with Dratini, but I feel your pain. 2,000 eggs hatched here, and only 1 Lapras + 4 Snorlax

If I get another Magmar or whatever his baby version is I'm going to throw my phone in the nearest body of water

Relying on 10km eggs for a Pokemon you need is like taking a trip to the beach in the hopes of seeing a Tsunami up close. Possible? Yes. Likely? No friggin way

He'll make a decent defender - not as good as Snorlax, but still very decent and will eventually give you a high spot in gyms. It really depends on whether you're wanting a decent defender or a strong attacker. If a strong attacker will be more useful to you, roll the second one and keep your fingers crossed.

The only thing that matters for a Dragonite defender is his CP.

If someone is hitting the gym he's in, they're going to win regardless of what his moveset is. Not like if you hatch a SW/DP they're going to hit it and go "OH CRAP I THOUGHT IT WAS DRAGON CLAW" and just walk away (lol)

Always go for highest IV on him if using as a defender. That's it.

However, the usefulness of DB Dragonites on offense can't be overstated. If you have enough 2.8k+ defenders for now and don't need another, then save your candy and keep evolving until you get DB quick + any charge move

even with stab on DB, SW is "superior". this is because of the randomness in which a defending pkmn attacks. DC is a B to deal with since it has a quick dodge window and can be dealt back to back - which is super annoying.
