Ditto Gym Training

Not sure anyone have tried but I think with the introduce of ditto, it can be used effectively for gym training. Let's say you have want to train a friendly gym with 3 pokemon of around 2000-2500 CP. You can then use up to 6 ditto to train the gym, maximum CP for ditto is not more than 600, so we should get maximum prestige increase of 1500 (3x500) right? Can anyone verify?

I did some testing with ditto and found that in all cases, the CP after transformation is used for the prestige and XP calculations.
